A certified electrician just completed the work. Awesome!
Congrats! Don't forget to try it out a time or two before you need it!

Although now that you have a simple solution, you may never need it! Thats the way it often goes. :)

Will do. We let it run for a good bit. Hope I never need it.

Just need the inverter and the bed cord if you want to upgrade it. The wiring between the bed cord area and the inverter are present.

$407 for the switch and less than $600 for the electrician.
Mine was about the same. $400 for the switch and $700 for the electrician. I had a quote for $600 from an electrician but I did not get a good feeling with him. The guy I hired was top shelf and A+ BBB rated, so I paid the extra.

My electrician was licensed and insured. He did some work when we added an addition last year and I verified all of his information. I was not about to go cheap on something like that! Interestingly, the first time we turned the truck on I did get the ground fault warning. He moved the ground wire and boom it worked.

Moved the ground wire? It's not the ground wire that causes the trip. If it was tripping with the ground attached, it sounds like he floated the ground?

What happened with mine was the bare grounds that went into the large junction box touched the main ground coming from the truck and triggered the fault. He tracked it down and wrapped that ground with electrical tape and moved it over to the other side of that box so when it got stuffed back in, they would not do that again. Worked perfectly after that. Sounds like the same thing for you. Good luck.

he knew exactly what he was doing. It took him 30 seconds and said I’m gonna move this ground. Think he just moved it on the bus a little bit or something said it happens. All the time thing works like a charm that’s the biggest thing! I’m running almost everything in a big house with 200 amp service with the exception of my large HVAC unit and some smaller appliances like the washing and drying machines. he said I won’t load the generator at all with all the things that I have on it. It.

Interestingly enough, I wired my home back in 2019 to accept a portable Generac generator and today my PB powers the Emergency Panel! This truck has powered a few of my job sites and my home more than a few times! It has been the best automobile I have ever owned. It has everything a luxury car has and it does what most luxury cars are incapable of doing. A month ago I drove from Toronto to Massachusetts(791km) and when I got to destination, there was 250km of range left!! Can't ask for more, considering there was 4 of us in the truck, bed was full, running 285/65R20 tires, levelled with full Talon Garage plates. My in-laws new Rav4 with two of them in the car had to stop for a tank of gas! I have attached a few pictures from my panel setup.
