Request VIN Lookup Thread

Hello. Looking to see what updates you can see pending for my vehicle. If you are able to advise if I can update via mongoose and FDRS based on what you see or if there is something I need the dealer to do, that would be great! Been talking with @Snakebitten and he referred me to this thread. Appreciate any help and guidance you can provide. Details and story below:

2021 F-150
Vin: 1FTFW1E81MKD00301
Sync Software: 21281 Revision 244

Story: Bought vehicle a few months ago and realized sync was out of date and not updating. June 6th dealer replaced APIM under extended warranty. Vehicle came back on the same old 21281 Revision 244 software.

July 16th vehicle went back to dealer and they "claim" to have updated all modules. Dealer said FDRS did not serve any additional APIM updates. Software still on 21281 Revision 244.

I checked your truck 2 days ago when he sent me the VIN. Post a pic of your entire "about sync" screen. I suspect there is some data mismatch between what your truck has and what the server thinks your truck has which is why you aren't showing the updates you need to get passed the Sync version you're on. I need a pic of that screen to consult with the local guru. However, you can fix it with FDRS and Jesse's help.

I didn't bother Jesse because I got the feeling @jazzybku was experiencing information overload while I was dumping on him. Lol

He mentioned that he was going to give it a couple of days before he decided what to do. Well, here he is!

What you and I both know is that now it's just a matter of time and effort for him to get that truck sorted.

I have the memory of a pot head. His Sync version is what stood out to me and prompted to me search his VIN in my messages and I found our convo.

It was the online user manual update from Sep 13, 2023. My update button is grayed out also. Just wondering if I'm missing s bunch of updates based on the newest spreadsheet I've seen. Here's my sync screen if that helps...

I don't know what you did to piss off the OTA gods because I don't see anything other than crappy luck with the OTA process preventing you from getting updates. Modem is working fine and you are showing a TCU update which is one of the key modules that need to have a pending update for you to be able to progress. Truck seems fine.

As suspected, your truck will require the resident wizard to wave his magic wand at it. I'll message you when we're ready to get your truck fixed.

You've had APIM update 23-PU0724-DOM-RS fail 5 times. Do you ever use the voice feedback feature to send info to Ford?

Because your OTA history shows it has failed many times, the dealer should hopefully not give you a hard time about doing it. I think dealer intervention would help the cause in your case. it is not normal that an update fails so many times.
