I have a new F150 and am looking for ceramic coating in NJ. There are a lot of people advertising it and I have a few questions.

1. Is it ok to just get ceramic coating without PPF?
2. My garage is not available. So should I skip mobile detailers in favor of someone with a shop?
3. Is it necessary to get rims and glass ceramic coated too?
4. What are some of the things to ask for when you talk to someone who does this?
5. One person said her used Adams graphene. Is this good? He says it offers 7 years protection and he has one more Adams graphene which offers 9 year protection? His price is $700 for the 7 year and $1000 for the 9 year. If he includes rims and glass he could do the 7 year for $1000. Is this a good price? Is this a good brand?
8. Is there anything else I should know?

I would recommend you get paint correction and claybar before ceramic or PPF since even on a new truck because the paint DOES have contaminants. You don't have to add PPF but it gives better protection from rock chips that ceramic alone does not. I would go with a shop just because it's hard to get a great job doing it outside. A pro with a shop will be more expensive sure but you get what you pay for.

1. Yes you can get ceramic without ppf just know ceramic won't protect aganst rock chips.
2. That would be something to ask your installer i had mine installed at a shop.
3. That is up to you. ceramic helps with keeping brake dust from sticking to the rims making it easier to keep them clean. On glass its like a more permanent rain-x. My ceramic package had the rims and windshield included and I added the rest of the glass on the vehicle.
4. I would ask them everything you are asking on here. Also ask what the aftercare is like what to do and what not to do. Paint correction is another thing to ask about and if all or some is included in the price.
5. I have heard good things about adams graphene coating. As far as I know Adams doesnt provide any 7 year or 9 year coating as all adams products are tailered towards the diy market.

I would go with a well known shop that has good reviews. One of my major deciding factors was the warranty or what may be called a 5 year coating I chose the one that had the best warranty. Also just because a coating says it a 5 year coating doesnt mean the coating will only lasts 5 years.

I put Adams ceramic advanced on my new F150 when it was less than two weeks old. I did the paint correction myself and because it was so new it was very easy.
I would recommend that you use RainX on the glass rather than ceramic. It works better, lasts longer and only costs about $5 for the bottle.

From start to finish, it only took me a week end to do the job. You might think about trying to find a place that you can use to do the job. I saved about $1600 by doing the job myself. My truck fits in my garage with no problems.

No matter what the advertisements say, I don’t believe that the coatings will last nine years.

I am going into two weeks. My garage is full of wood dust and I don't want to risk taking the Ford in. Usually what is the reason for storing in garage while applying ceramic coating? And the cost I am getting is around $1000 if I do ceramic coating on the glass and rims. Was yours more expensive at $1600 not counting labor and materials? And did you do the rim? How easy is it to do paint correction and applying the coating?

1. A full PPF wrap is hideously expensive. Some people just do the front end. I don’t like the visible seam, so I just went with a ceramic coating.
you CAN do ceramic coating on top of PPF but I don’t see the point.
2. I tend to eschew the mobile guys. Feels kinda fly-by-night to me, my truck goes to the detailer’s shop where they have the space and tools.
3. Rims probably. Jury is out on glass.
4.
5. there are a few excellent coatings on the market. Talk to the retailers, find out what they use then go googling. But in reality, it’s a crap shoot. Pick a good detailed and go with his suggestion.
6. I went with the longer life product. No idea if that was foolish or not. I was feeling expansive that day.
Someone else mentioned paint correction and clamber - that should go without saying for the price you’re paying. IMHO it is a necessary part of the installation process.

Usually the price for a full ceramic coating with paint correction is $1800 to $3000. The cost of materials will be close to $200 and about 20 hours labor. That is just me and there are lots of ways to cut corners.
RainX is better for glass.

You could use a leaf blower and blow out your garage to remove the dust. Mist the inside to keep any remaining dust down.
I have a gravel driveway a half mile long and have the same problem.

Honestly, everyone should skip the ceramic coatings and even other gimmicky shit like paint sealants and waxes. Ive tried so many things at this point, but there isnt a substitute for PPF. PPF doesnt look as good, but its the ONLY thing that offers any small amount of uv protection. The bonus is it protects from scratches and rock chips too generally. Id get a quote to ppf the whole truck and see how much more that is than ceramic coatings. Adams is one of the best ceramics, but its still very expensive to have applied and isnt a forever solution or even an all encompassing solution. PPF mitigated the common corrosion issues on the hoods of S197s.

I didnt ppf my f150 and its already covered in rock chips at 5k miles. I wont be ppfing the truck. Idgaf about it anymore really. I did get Cerakotes ceramic sealant, but thats only likely to last about 7 months to a year based on independent tests. It sucks to apply too. Id probably go back to jetseal.

I paid $2200 for mine. They also removed the FX4 badging off the bed for me. They did wheels and calipers. Needs to be done indoors in a shop to be done correctly. Mines a 6 year warranty but read fine print. They recommend redoing it every 2 years. Washing once a week. Again just like any other add on features is customer choice. Can pay less can pay more. Old saying you get what you pay for.

I have a car that I purchased about seven years ago that had a ceramic coating on it when I bought it. The coating wasn’t fresh and I haven’t done anything but wash it.
I didn’t think anything about it until recently. It doesn’t have swirl marks and is very easy to wash and clean. It doesn’t bead water like my newly coated f150, but I may have to break down and put my left over Adams ceramic advanced on it.

It is a 25 year old SL500 and still looks good.

Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
I might get my 2023 Bentley Continental GTC V8 AWD ceramic coated, but I keep it in my garage. Or I would if I had one to put in the garage. I suck it up and put my 2021 F150 instead. It's a truck. Clear coat is good. I don't have dogs or boats or kids. No one to douche it out other than the car wash. Just some fertilizer, occasional gravel, plants, and mulch. No off-road driving. I'm not taking it to car shows in 20 years, since I feel certain that there may be other plans for me.

Don't waste your time or money. Clear wrap on the front is all I would put on it if you must. But not mine. Remember I am not showing it in 20 years, so the nicks and rock chips I will be living with. Along with a cranky old lady, who probably could have used some wrap and a ceramic coating a few decades back, but..............

I've had great luck with carpro products. The cquartz uk was awesome for a year on my old truck until it got totaled. I'm going to give their upgraded Dquartz a try when I have the time. If you have the ability and a spot to do it, it's a big $ saver.

Don't waste your money. You can get the same results for far less. I woud use the Rain X for the glass and Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions ceramic sealer for the paint every 6 months with their other products as you like but be sure to use a clay bar first then apply the sealer. https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Wax-53409-Solutions-Coating-16/dp/B07XYPS3PS/ref=sxin_17_sbv_search_btf?content-id=amzn1.sym.5cde1a09-4942-4242-87c5-e66d2d3b6a3c:amzn1.sym.5cde1a09-4942-4242-87c5-e66d2d3b6a3c&crid=1P126X40XNI10&cv_ct_cx=turtle+wax+53409&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.7W8C3ugSsFBpDOE5pS5F0Q.xmv3L3Ket1S747Z2wlk9385tpamkp0oCgdTdOUuqqNo&dib_tag=se&keywords=turtle+wax+53409&pd_rd_i=B07XYPS3PS&pd_rd_r=64199154-eaac-4b38-873b-d7103470ef83&pd_rd_w=leqON&pd_rd_wg=y3Ctd&pf_rd_p=5cde1a09-4942-4242-87c5-e66d2d3b6a3c&pf_rd_r=SJ6J9DEVMRR0340GDYCZ&qid=1717978753&s=automotive&sbo=RZvfv//HxDF+O5021pAnSA==&sprefix=turtle+wax+53409,automotive,289&sr=1-1-5190daf0-67e3-427c-bea6-c72c1df98776&th=1

I am on my fourth year with 40K with on the truck with the Antimatter Blue paint looking better than the day I purchased it using the Turtlwax Hybrid Solutions products for very little cost, time savings that are minutes a month vs hours giving excellet results that I would compare with any $1000.00 coating with a worthless warranty that you wil never be able to use, I worked at a detail shop in my past and the expensive paint sealants are a complete rip off and are only worth about 50 dollars in actual product applied. The warranty will always point to a user error in how they care for the coating as a reason to deny any claim.

Check out the product line with Pan the Organizer.
