Isn’t ford on this forum and it’s not like granger keeps it a secret. Ford should be much more concerned with all of the dog shit dealers they have making me consider buying a GMC
@Ford Motor Company's BS marketing team is on this forum, that's all. Their only job is to tell you that your truck looks great and "welcome to the Ford family" when you post a picture of your new truck. That's it. They do nothing else that I have seen.
Still, you're right. My brother, who has driven a Ford for the past 10-15 years and owns his own small business just traded his truck. He has always been a simple man and has never had any bling on his trucks since his truck serves a purpose. He would rather put the money in his business and instead of buying lift kits and other unnecessary garbage, he can cut costs to his customers. His last few trucks were simple STX's with 2.7 EcoBoosts. He normally puts about 100K miles on them in just over 2 years and even with a fantastic quote from Granger, he did the exact same thing you mentioned. He bought a GMC. The pricing is just getting out of control he couldn't justify the purchase. Granger's quote to him was $53-$55K for a very modest XLT (he liked the PowerBoost option for his business so he could eliminate the need for hauling a generator everywhere). If he could have gotten an STX with the PowerBoost, that may have swayed him. Instead, he picked up a GMC that met his needs for $43K and better financing. He continues to haul his trusty generator to jobsites.
@Ford Motor Company, you are failing (ref: your own Q1 financial report).

There's a thing called 'Dealer Cash' that's above and beyond invoice that a dealer gets directly from Ford. That number varies depending on sales goals and market. Every dealer has a business plan and expectations for each department like service and financing. Granger figured out how to make a good profit on volume so they don't HAVE to make 10 grand or more on each customer. What puzzled me was local dealers who would pass on a order, a guaranteed sale, to take a slightly lower profit. I'm just glad Granger didn't.

I truly don't know why prices have gone up so much for new Ford's.. I'm new to the newer trucks but in the case of regular cabs Ford had the best truck for the lowest price. If Dodge or GMC had a regular cab decently equipped with a V8 I absolutely would have considered them. I just didn't want a extended cab. I still have trouble believing folks will pay well over MSRP and stupid dealer add-ons! But if I had not been on this forum I might not have found out about Granger. I truly feel sorry for people who pay to much..

I did the same thing and I even said "lets put in the order, you can put it in this month or next even later if you need the order slot room, and I will wait a year or more no problem, just come somewhat close". Their answer was sorry buddy, MSRP and you would be a fool for passing this up. Huh?

I sent Granger a grand and have been happy ever since.

Whenever I see a bump sticker on a new truck I really am surprised someone would pay it. Why? Some just hate to bargain or shop around and for some folks many of the regional dealerships are owned by a group. If every Ford dealership for a hundred miles around are owned by the same management and they set MSRP as a bottom line and go up from there that effectively takes away the chance for a better price for many traditional buyers. What bothers me is paying 'new' price for a vehicle with 2, 3 or 5 thousand miles that has been beat on or a loaner. THAT'S a used truck! Part of the reason for buying new is knowing the truck has been broken in right and hasn't been abused.
I'll take great care when I get mine. But I'll pay for the privilege. A lot of the money a dealer makes is in the service department. I have mine picked out here that has has a good reputation. It's a shame that they would not come within 5 K of Granger's price but that's there business model. Just imagine how huge Granger's service department would have to be..50 bays maybe lolol! One thing I think many folks forget is you CAN buy from Granger and just have your truck drop shipped to your front yard.. And STILL save thousands and thousands of dollars. Maybe next year Granger will advertise that and sell hundreds more F-150's. But I'll be headed to sunny Iowa..ROAD TRIP!

After buying from Granger, I judge people based upon where they get their truck (or any Ford model). If they don't buy from Granger then my only logical thought is that they hate their own money.
To your point, loaners are used trucks. Those vehicles have been titled and are owned by the dealership. I refuse to pay anywhere near MSRP on a used truck. If Ford offers incentives like $8K off MSRP, I expect that and more removed from a loaner. Usually I offer them the same poke in the eye they'd give me if I tried to trade in a year old truck with 5000 miles plus whatever incentives the manufacturer is offering at the time. The conversation usually ends there and I go home to call Granger. That's what happened this past January and I have been driving my '24 King Ranch for well over a month now...and it doesn't have any deletes and was still cheaper than most '23 loaner Lariats in the DFW area. It was definitely cheaper than any '23 King Ranch I've seen.

Haha yeah! I have had dealers tell me msrp for loaners with 7k miles! Totally unbelievable.

So Ford's cost more than GM/Chevy trucks?
I mean comparably equipped, of course.
They've both, along with everything else, increased in price since the Covid pricing pressure changed the world.

That's my understanding from reading other posts, but I never even considered a GM or Ram product. Toyota probably makes the most reliable truck in my opinion, but the Tundra is butt-ugly and the Tacoma just seems a tad too small.

I see GMC Denalis (5.3L) here in DFW listed from low $60k to high $60k depending on the options. That is tier match for the Platinum trim. Good luck finding a Plat or KR at $62k. Denali Ultimate is more like the Plat Plus. That is in the high $70k range, where as the Plat Plus (former Limited) is low $80k. From what I can see in the general market - GM trucks are marked down less than Ford, by quite a bit.

If I were a GM Exec, I'd be angling to take advantage of Ford's botched MY24 F150 roll-out...and would be cutting prices to the bone in the hopes of converting some long-time Ford F150 enthusiasts...

If GM were to take the sales crown for pickups from Ford, that is the ultimate marketing coup.

That’s assuming GM could logistically match the sales volume as ford. I bet their supply chain isn’t equipped and couldn’t do that kind of volume overnight.

GM already passed Ford for most new trucks sales back in 2021. Ford only hangs on to their crown because GM divides their trucks into two brands, Chevy and GMC. If you combined them they make and sell more than Ford. So, General Motors can logistically match Ford, they already do.

Last year GM sold 555,148 Silverados and 295,737 Sierras for a total of 850,885 half-ton trucks. Ford sold 750,789 F-150s. However, the F-150 is still the best selling model as Silverado and Sierra are technically two different models (from two different makes). It is what allows Ford to continue claiming that it is the best selling truck. But until a couple of years ago, Ford was beating all combined GM lines for 1/2 tons. It is impossible to say that Ford is not losing ground and I don't think it is the product itself, which remains top shelf for 1/2 tons. It is the pricing and the nagging quality issues.
