Once you enable the 360 camera are you able to enable park assist?
The two systems are fairly independent except they center around the IPMA. Park assist requires the older IPMAs (typically the 2021 versions) to have the chips to allow for Park assist. Or there is a way to retrofit the chips into your later model truck - contact @Jesse-Infotainment. Most people swap the IPMAs with a single brown coax connecter for the higher end versions which have green and brown coax connectors (you can see the difference in ebay postings). Do a search for 14G647 and you'll get a list of them - check out an ML3T14G647NA versus an ML3T14G647DBA or ML3T14G647KA. Also, this same component (hardware) is used in the Mach E so you want one from a F150 (ML3T). My FS IPMA supports 360 cameras but not park assist which requires the additional sensors (6 in front and 6 in back). I have added the sensors and the front radar but that is another project. If you don't have the right IPMA and the additional sensors - park assist won't function, and you get DTCs if you are enabling using Forscan. This is just based on my research - your implementation may differ. But if I am incorrect in any of these points, please let me know.

Pretty standard that the fully optioned mirrors are around $1000. I think your cap approach should work (you can get the stick on chrome for pretty reasonable). I'll send you the steps for disassembling the mirrors as they are mostly installed as a unit.

For the front camera read Tlusk7s posting and write ups. The more expensive camera is for the Lightning and didn't work with my truck (just displayed a blue screen on any of the IPMA ports and I tried two so I don't think it was the camera). I used the bb/bc version (I'll have to look up the part number. If you want I have an extra I can get to you that you can test with).

However, I am still working on mine (along with a number of other projects for it) but after all the work I can't get it to switch off of the rear camera. So I am still testing Forscan settings and camera configurations. All of my cameras display if I switch them to the rear port (on either IPMA - the FS or my original). @Tlusk7 may have gone through this with @Jesse-Infotainment.
I can definitely use some instruction on disassembling the mirrors. Please do send those to me.

For the Front camera I don't have a part number I am relying on the ebay listings only. As in the write up it’s listed in break parts and am trying to just get an assembled camera.

You have all cameras working is great! It’s just not enabled on APIM right ? So the settings for ForScan in the write up didn't work for you?

Will do. Ah, for the front camera you were looking for the emblem as well. Makes sense, I have a different ford grill.

I have the values in the write up enabled and get the proper menu items, it just doesn't switch cameras (something I did wrong, I am sure). I think everyone else that has done it, it has worked fine. I have modified quite a few other things and sometimes one setting contradicts another.

Yeah I have had that issue before. Changing values and then unable to match other values for the mods. You’ll hopefully get to it.

In the meantime just got my parts. Ordering the cables soon. And still on lookout for a camera assembly.

Big Thanks on the IPMA info. I have a NA on order too. Read the other thread and saw @Jesse-Infotainment mentioning that the NA is most versatile with all features and chips.

I have a base 501 with sports package, and I was thinking the same - putting the xlt cap and camera to the Lariat power fold base(that should work out right ?) and later on paint them or stick on a chrome trim. Its for sure alot of work and I haven’t opened up a mirror ever before.
Looked on youtube and found out taking the mirror out is all about later it’s just some bolts and all.

I have some chrome full optioned mirrors listed around me but are asking $1000 and am not ready for that.

Plus the front cam is expensive too, nothing on ebay less than $300 shipped to Canada.
(Prices in CAD)
Check Levittown ford for the camera. May not be worth it after shipping if they even ship to Canada. I got lucky and found a front cam on eBay for $50. Seller had tons and now they are all gone.

I had this issue and me and Jesse almost strangled each other over it. Message me and I can help you troubleshoot. I’m not sure where you got the lighting camera part number, but at one point the part number on my doc was for an F250. When plugged into the rear camera port it would work, but it’s not the right kind and the front and rear cam have to talk to each other properly. The IPMA sees some kind of error on initial start up and it only displays the rear cam.

To troubleshoot start the truck, press your camera button, and then while it shows everything blue with only the rear cam, unplug and replug the front cam. You should see all cameras come up except the front.

Try plugging the cam into the rear port, if it works on the rear port but not front, it’s the wrong camera.

So I didn't see that the F250 camera one didn't work until I was testing with one I had bought. I originally had a bb/bc camera in and had tested all of the wiring for the additional three runs. I don't have blue screen on any. I thought maybe the front and rear had to have the PJ7Z-19G490-B camera so I bought another one and then I reread your post about the front being the bb/bc camera which I have a couple of extras. The only ones that show blue screen are the PJ72 cameras. They are also used in the Lightnings (that is where I got the reference from). Anyway since all of the cameras display in the rear port (#2), I was looking at forscan and noticed that the 706-26-XX registers in my IPMA were not set and I couldn't set them by hand. This made me think the IPMA doesn't see the additional cameras. If you can send me your email, I can give more detail. Appreciate the help.

It was not. Good point. I ordered front and rear emblems and switched to black for $130 and then ordered the camera for $50 plus washer for $20 and bracket and screws was another some maybe $15? I may have 220 in my front cam and emblem and the rear emblem change

Yeah, I would love the black emblems myself, but apparently, everything is so jacked up here in CND right now! Just gave a seller an offer for $160 on eBay for a used full set. ?

While you are here, I might as well through in some questions I have, I have read and watched all the instructions and just want to confirm a few things:
a) The changes mentioned in the instruction pdf are the only ones to be applied as I am not installing the cargo cam. If different do you have any values for that?
b) How do we conduct a 360 camera calibration in a parking yard, just drive between/through the parking spot.
c) On installing the new IPMA, just copy the present IPMA As-Built and write on to it.

TIA

A- same changes, you will just have a cargo cam button that is greyed out. You may be able to look in the forscan data sheet and figure out which of those values you don’t need if it bothers you.

B- all of that info is in my write up at the end. You lane assist calibration and the 360 camera calibration are two different procedures in forscan and have to be performed differently.

C- I bought an IPMA from Jesse pre configured, but yes you would copy the info from your IPMA to the new one. Keep in mind, the new IPMA will have a good amount of additional lines of configuration that yours will not. You will have to go through and change the values required and test.

Highly appreciate it man!

I am gathering the parts, $160(CAD 220) the eBay seller accepted offer. Though its too cold here hope the temperatures drop soon and I can begin the install.

I hope it works out ! Cheers !!

Here is still what is happening: Either shifting to reverse or hitting the camera button shows the same thing (rear camera view). In reverse it also shows the guidelines. If I hit the options for the cameras menu nothing really changes except when I select the 360 option - the guidelines disappear and a magnifying glass shows up that can be used to zoom (I am guessing) because if I click on any of the pluses - nothing changes. I never get the top view of the truck. I have made the changes that are in your write up. That is what they are currently set to. I expect that the IPMA is not communicating with the other cameras. When I was trying to do the 360 calibration, I still had the U2101 DTC and have not had a chance to rerun the calibration due to snow/time. Also, since the changes my proximity sensors don't trip the view of the truck with the detection area but they do activate the camera (rearview regardless of the sensor location).

Sorry, this took awhile due to snow.

F150 Gen 14 Mirror Assembly

Replace Cap Bing Videos

There is a slot behind the glass to insert a longer screwdriver from the bottom outside corner and twist the screwdriver to pop the glass off.

Ford F-150 How To Install Factory 360 Camera System 1706216051694

Fig 1.

This shows the guides to get the screwdriver into the slot to twist. First time is a little rough because it sounds bad coming off.

Following the above video, remove the glass and the cap. Be careful of the wires (BLIS is very small and can be pulled out of the plug).

Ford F-150 How To Install Factory 360 Camera System 1706216095536

Fig 2.

The plug needs to clear these prongs to come off of the mirror, the tab at the top of the picture is where the wire hooks into.

Ford F-150 How To Install Factory 360 Camera System 1706216117112

Fig 3.

This gasket (?) comes off just be careful not to rip it.

You should only have to disassemble anything that prevents removing the wiring harness on either mirror.

However, you may have to take the piece off in Fig 4. Be careful of the long tab because it will break off easily. The one in the picture is broken.

Ford F-150 How To Install Factory 360 Camera System 1706216142037

Fig 4.

If the new mirror assembly has all options except the power fold (as in the XLT – Not sure if the XLT has position sensors for memory see Fig 5 and check for the sensor wires), I would take the harness out of the XLT version and add the wiring for the fold motor if everything is populated except for the power fold wires. If they are not there you will have to run the coax to continue to have memory mirrors. The coax will be difficult to retrofit unless you don’t care about the grommet in Fig 6. You should be able to take this wiring off of the power fold harness (Lariat) including depinning at the connector (Fig 6. Exterior Mirror connector C521/C622 Blue).

Fig 6 Red shows Power fold connector and thread them through the grommet (Fig 6 Yellow).

Fig 6.

Depinning and adding to the connector (Fig 6. Blue) should be covered in other postings. Each connector can differ.

The most difficult part of removing/replacing the wiring harness is routing all of the connectors through the hinge hole but everything will fit if you bring one connector through at a time. The plug for the power fold goes right below the yellow circle (Fig 7. Red).

Ford F-150 How To Install Factory 360 Camera System 1706216222094

Fig 7.

Once you have added the wiring for the power fold, reinstall the wiring harness. Wiring goes out of the hinge hole (Fig 8. Red) and loops through the hook circled in yellow, then off to each component.

Ensure everything is plugged in, all connectors are unique so no issues with what goes where.
The grommet goes in the hole in Fig 9 underneath the gasket.
