Pull back will flash high beams like any vehicle. Push forward will click through modes.
Some vehicles when you push forward the stalk, it stays forward until you bring it back.. our trucks are not one of them I just learned today

And no i don’t think it require a trailer to be plugged in, just required you to be in reverse I believe.
I just confirmed this is definitely true. I never even thought to try it without a trailer, haha.

2023+ IPMA can support 50/50 view like that when in motion without trailer.

I've searched, but haven't really seen a definitive answer. Is it possible to enable Bed Scales via Forscan if you have CCD shocks already? I enabled scales on the easy version of Forscan and the option showed up on the screen, but said they weren't available when I tapped it.

How did you get CCD without scales?

I thought you could get scales without CCD, but not the other way around. ?

Not sure. I ordered in October or November of 21. Built first week of Jan. 22. They were separate options. Scales may have required CCD, but not the other way around. I've seen a few others with CCD and no scales on here. I've seen your posts about the hardware being there, which makes me think enabling them is doable.

I think there was a small window where you could order separately. Ford must have changed that. When did you order?

When your auto high beams kick on and off, do they kinda slowly ramp up and down? Or do they immediately go on and off like normal like as if you turn them on with the stalk?

Of they ramp up and down, your glare free is working. If they don’t, then it’s not.

However, it’s much more than just high beams ramping up and down. It’s hard to explain but it’s just a much more intelligent system. One example is, if you are on a desolate 2 lane highway late at night and the system has its high beams on just like traditional high beams, then a car comes head on from the other direction, the truck will only ramp down the left side headlight, and maybe just the left side of the right headlight. Way off in the weeds on the right side, your high beams stay on the whole time that car passes by you. So the truck essentially only turns off the portion of high beam that would blind the other driver, but leaves the rest of the high beams on otherwise.

Then once the car goes by, the system will ramp back up the high beam lights back to where they were.

That is one small example. It will do things like that when you are following other cars, passing bright reflective street signs etc.
Ok thanks. I do get the ramping on and off, just not seeing the other things you mentioned. When a car comes from the other direction, mine seem to just ramp back down rather than what you describe ??‍♂. Still awesome. Thank you.

My recollection must be backwards. It's a burden of a senior citizen at times. ?

But yeah, if the truck has CCD, it seems odd that Scales isn't included. Surely all the hardware is onboard, short of the taillight graduations?
So you are right that I would have said that or something similar in the past as well.

I'd be happy to share Asbuilt data with you if you, or anyone, could decipher what values might apply.

I think the scales just use the brake light LEDs. I could be wrong though.

Appreciate the offer of the values, but I wouldn't know what modules etc. to compare. I'm still not sure how to utilize any tabs on the spreadsheet beyond the common tab. I'm new to the Forscan world.

I want to say someone here already tried to enable scales but had an issue with the VDM module or something. I could be wrong but I thought the conclusion was without having it from the factory or getting the correct hardware it wasn’t possible to just enable even with CCD.

I have scales without CCD. Let me know if you want any of my asbuilt data.

The brake light is different internally some how, if I remember right the scale light has a grey connection as opposed to the non scale light being black

That would make sense since the little LED’s have to operate independently vs all at once.

Non-scale lights have a bunch of wires connected to black connector. I assume the gray version just has more pins to use more of those wires. It's definitely not just a simple Forscan change with lights wired differently. I read a few of the attempts to add scales and it seems to be impossible on each attempt. There are aftermarket options to do the same thing that I've seen advertised online if it is a feature really wanted.

Gotcha. I didn't realize there were scale specific tail lights. I guess I haven't seen scales or no scales listed on the lights I've seen for sale and just assumed they were all the same for the higher end trucks. Been considering swapping to the BAP/Tremor tails, so I have browsed a few.

I appreciate all the replies.
