I also remember that. My truck was built at the very tail end of March. I missed that job 2 cutoff by less than 2 weeks.

I was concerned about not being able to enable glare free.. but ultimately I was able to just fine.

I don’t know if they ended up removing anything needed for the feature to work or not but I want to say I don’t think they did. It’s just a tricky one to get enabled in Forscan.

I’ve said it a bunch of times on here (I’m a broken record) but I honestly don’t know what happens when glare free is finally enabled. I actually have a setting under lighting to enable glare free, maybe that’s what happens when you enable in forscan, and other than watching the high beams go on and off automatically, I don’t really see anything special or what others have talked about them doing.

When your auto high beams kick on and off, do they kinda slowly ramp up and down? Or do they immediately go on and off like normal like as if you turn them on with the stalk?

Of they ramp up and down, your glare free is working. If they don’t, then it’s not.

However, it’s much more than just high beams ramping up and down. It’s hard to explain but it’s just a much more intelligent system. One example is, if you are on a desolate 2 lane highway late at night and the system has its high beams on just like traditional high beams, then a car comes head on from the other direction, the truck will only ramp down the left side headlight, and maybe just the left side of the right headlight. Way off in the weeds on the right side, your high beams stay on the whole time that car passes by you. So the truck essentially only turns off the portion of high beam that would blind the other driver, but leaves the rest of the high beams on otherwise.

Then once the car goes by, the system will ramp back up the high beam lights back to where they were.

That is one small example. It will do things like that when you are following other cars, passing bright reflective street signs etc.

I also remember seeing something about build 2/3 Canadian trucks losing glare free somewhere but I am unsure where or when I saw it
According to the Ford spec sheet - glare free was removed on all cdn trim levels on job 2 trucks. That said I know of one person who has indicated that he was able to enable it on a job 2 truck using forscan. So who knows ???

That is true. At the time we speculated it was do to future hardware shortage, but it was only disabled in the asbuilt. I have yet to hear from anyone on ether side of the border that was not able to activate it with forscan.

Just added glare free in my January 22 build before a road trip to the mountains and it is amazing to see how it works. I was getting annoyed with auto high beams essentially flashing oncoming traffic if the cars were spaced just far enough apart. This eliminates that and adds all the other benefits. I was hesitant to dive into Forscan, but it was way easier than I thought it'd be. I was able to use the Crossover app on my Macbook to run the Windows version of Forscan.

Hi all,
When I put the gear into Reverse, I can't view the trailer side 50/50 view! It was working along time ago but now when I press the soft button nothing happens. I think I messed it up with forscan changed before.
Any help will be appreciated.

Don’t you have to have a trailer hooked up for that?

That’s happened to me a few times already. Was confused at first but I checked the values for camera in motion from the forscan spreadsheet. One of those values got reverted. Happened after the latest IPMA update yesterday as well too but I was able to fix it.
And no i don’t think it require a trailer to be plugged in, just required you to be in reverse I believe.

Still I didn't update the IPMA, I will update it first thing in the morning.
So, do you remember which value you changed? I just checked the values they are typically same as spreadsheet 2021 IPMA Values.
And you are right, no need the trailer to be hooked up. It works in reverse only.

If you think you have Glarefree enabled, but you see the traditional blue High Beam indicator on the instrument cluster, that's confirmation that you are not experiencing Glarefree.

Or at least I don't think Glarefree ever triggers the blue indicator?

Sorry I didn’t take note which value I corrected yesterday. It’s the 2nd time it happened so it was just a go to for me to check and I just remember one of the 3 from the IPMA and APIM was not correct. I don’t use the trailer cam view much but was working on the 50/50 Split View while in motion and noticed it not working after the changes with 50/50 working but not trailer cams.

Correct, glare free only ever shows the green A

It’s correct that glare free itself only shows the green A, but if you manually push forward your turn signal stock it will still manually turn on old school high beams and show the blue icon (which is essentially overriding the glare free temporarily).

So yes if you are trying to test glare free operation and you have the blue icon, kick your turn signal stalk back and look for the green icon. Then you are good.

Edit: To clarify it looks like you actually push the signal stalk forward again to turn off the manual high beams to restore glare free, not pull it back.

Pull back will flash high beams like any vehicle. Push forward will click through modes.
