Check and see but the Powerboost may only be able to accept up to the H7 size.

Yeah Powerboost has modules or something in the battery tray. Measure to be sure, should be H7 maximum.

I was looking at Odyssey, but I've been seeing posts floating around the interwebs that they have gone the way of Optima and are not honoring warranties anymore.

Stay away from Exide. The debate is between Johnson Controls/Deka and East Penn made batteries. Best I can tell is East Penn has the better quality but slightly lower reserve capacity.

No flooded batteries on 2021 or newer - if going for economy then Interstate (Mexico) and Walmart (Mexico), good battery, lower quality construction, etc. Johnson (Mexico) and Deka/East Penn (USA made) are very good quality and are branded with quality names like Duracell and others. Odyssey (USA) is a great battery, Enersys owns them - Enersys recently purchased Northstar (USA) who makes a Northstar brand and X2 Power (Batteries Plus stores) - these are pure lead AGM batteries that are great performers and will easily outlast their warranties, but can be finicky if not fully charge (higher voltage and high amperage ie driven often or with a good battery maintainer). When changing any 2021 or newer Ford w/ AGM battery you really must reset the battery management system - most good battery shops can do this, pretty easy.

I chose Auto Zone, store nationwide if I ever need a simple replacement under warranty.

^ Great video - very well done! Just remember that that comparative analysis is 4 years old. And things do change...

Note too that 6 of the 8 batteries in the 'test' are Flooded Lead Acid (FLA), only 2 AGM, making it rather meaningless relative to our Gen 14 F150 interests.

I am running that in my non-PB Lariat, it's my 5th Everstart Platinum in various vehicles over the years. Reasons I like Walmart Everstart Platinum
  • Walmart is found in more towns than any auto parts franchise (except NAPA?).
  • Warranty is not pro-rated, it's 100% replacement from start to end of the warranty term
  • I've run 3 of these batteries years beyond the warranty term
  • IME Walmart gives no hassle when a warranty claim is made (I made a claim on 1 out of 4 batteries, and that one was likely damaged by me (my bad, overcharging using an incorrect charger setting).
When changing any 2021 or newer Ford w/ AGM battery you really must reset the battery management system - most good battery shops can do this, pretty easy.
Instructions for doing this are in your Owner's Manual - search "Battery Sensor Reset". ONLY do a reset when you install a new battery.
