Hi All,

Apologies if this was covered elsewhere but I didn't see anything addressing this directly, I am picking up my truck on Friday and was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of everything I should expect to receive? For example the truck has box link but the cleats were missing, is there anything else I should be on the look out for? I know I should be getting two keys, I looked through the pre-delivery checklist post and didn't see much called out for stuff not bolted to the truck other than the box link cleats and keys. The dealer is a 90 minute drive so I want to make sure everything is there and don't have to drive back to pick up something before I leave.

Thanks

you want to test every sync 4, button, motor, wiper, light, door, tailgate and so on... start it up a few times. you will want to make sure the paint is what you expect.. i was very lucky on my '22 502A. just a few alignment issues with the hood. get up in the bed and look at the roof... that is really all you can do. if there is a panel with bad orange peel for instance.. you can ask for some bucks off. overall though.. it should be 99%.

Don’t waste your money on “cilajet” or any other BS paint protection coating. In fact tell them to not even wash or wipe it down. Take it to a professional detailer on day 1 before the dealer can swirl the paint

You should also get a blank cut metal key. For reference, I missed a misaligned front bumper and a cut on the steering wheel from the dealer cutting protective wrap during PDI.

I absolutely abhor dealer badging so make sure they haven't thrown some on your truck since you last saw it.

my boxlink cleats were on a shrink wrapped cardboard backing under the back seats.
and FYI, there is no manual, a tire warranty and some other worthless legal stuff, but since the manual is built into the sync system there is no paper book like the old days. so there isn't much swag that comes in new vehicles.

Thanks everyone, I purchased the truck last week and went over it with a fine tooth comb at the time and have them fixing some small issues I found (the cowl panel around the antenna was lifted, and a trim piece misaligned above the screen inside, and the missing cleats that weren't inside the truck or clipped in the bed).

I plan to re-inspect everything on Friday when I pick it up to ensure I didn't miss anything. I also wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything else that should also be included.

what did they do about the cowl around the antenna? Mine does this and I just haven’t messed with it to see if it’s easily adjustable

Ha, not only did I have them take off the dealer nonsense, I had the mach-e's decals removed before delivery too.

You should get the single emergency key that works the spare and this card with the code for your door panel keypad, if you have that.

I'm not sure yet, the salesman suggested they were going to have to replace it but I am not sure if ended up being the case yet. I know on the dash trim inside they are replacing the piece as that was the holdup on delivery, they had to order the panel in and it's not due to arrive until today.

I do the same thing on every vehicle, one of the first things I do after it hits my driveway is start removing any decal that doesn't need body work afterwards. Thankfully I did catch this one before any dealer logos hit the paint but will double check they didn't add it even though I refused to sign the paper saying they could put one on. Apparently theres some law in Maryland where the customer has to agree for the dealer logo to be permanently affixed to the car?

Great, thank you! Theres really not much included these days from Ford, this makes it simple but also just feels wrong. I am so used to getting a ton of crap you rarely touch with various vehicles.

Do the new ones also come with the 7 pin to 4 pin trailer adapter? My '22 came with one but it's not the best.

This is the one thing I couldn't find when I went to change my door code. I had to pull the passenger side kick panel to find the factory code on the BCM.

HA! I brought this up in another thread and a lot of people did not know what this is. Their dealer did not give them one. This was one of the first things that Chip at Granger gave to me when we did the deal. He showed how I could reset the code to what I wanted but since I was traveling I should keep this safe until I can change it.

I think a lot of dealerships just throw this and the buyer never gets one. It has limited use, information and value, but it was nice to get. The back of the card has limited instructions but they are something.
