I am just reporting the news. If others feel the $600 is worth the risk with the potential of not getting the BC update, then more power to them. I would cough up the $600 if BC 1.3 were coming, but I do not think it is going to be the case. If they do come out with it for my truck, great, but their OTA track record is leaning towards it not being the case.

If I knew for a fact that it was not going to apply to my vehicle, then I'd not bother paying the $600 but if I had a 2021, then I'd be asking them to extend the offer longer, pending the 1.3 update to see if I was going to get it. (You'll never get what you never ask for)

Mine is a'23 so I have time before I need to worry but the SA at my dealership told me that I should expect the 1.3 eventually and he said they were supposedly addressing the fact that it keeps hugging the right side of the lane. That annoys us, as my wife has a Lincoln and her hugs the right side of the lane as well.

That's the only real reason I don't use it more often. I've used it a couple of times when I've had to drive in the middle of the night and there were no other cars/trucks out there for me to worry about.

Interesting, except these people don’t seem to know anything. They said my gas tank had to be 80% full to get OTA updates.
I still use this story as an example of how clueless those people are on a regular basis.

That is an oddly specific response from them

Yeah I kind of puts me in a weird position, I'm only comfortable spending the $600 if I know I'll get 1.3, That's a really crappy move if they end up cutting the 2021's out

Well, taking all of the pieces together:
1) Articles mid 2023 stating only 2022-2023 F150s would get the 1.3 update
2) The email to only the 2021 owners offering the sweet BC subscription deal
3) The OTA lady saying the BC 1.3 document specifically did not list the 2021 F150s, but did include the 2022 & 2023.

Time will tell. Not like the world will end either way, but it is just really shitty for Ford to potentially be abandoning (some of) the 2021 users into the ping-pong realm... This is the potentially bad part of being an early adopter...

Here is the Canadian pricing for BC. Plus taxes on top of this, taxes vary province by province but at least another 10 percent. This is a hard no for me renewing.

To be fair, only the 2021 owners have subscriptions expiring, will be interesting to see how it plays out

As I have stated before, most of the time that my truck is on the highway and able to use blue cruise , I have my bike rack installed and it has STT lights installed. As soon as I plug the lights in, the truck thinks there is a trailer attached and bingo, no blue cruise . When the bikes are on the rack, enough of my taillights are blocked and it's just not safe. So this is a no for me, unless of course Ford gives us another extension until 1.3 comes out and we see if we like it. If Ford wants this subscription program to work, that's what they should do.

I bought the BlueCruise 3-year plan for my 2021 job 1 F-150 Limited for $600.00.

The $75.00 per month is just an incentive to buy the subscription. I doubt anyone would buy a monthly plan.

I don't use BlueCruise much. Great in stop and go traffic, for me. Much less stress. My annual trip to Florida from New England is much easier with BlueCruise than with LaneKeep. I think BlueCruise is better at staying in lane.

Don't really care about version 1.3. The truck doesn't get a lot of OTA updates, and when it gets one its usually months after most others on this forum. And many of the updates are to fix problems, none of which I have had, except for the Nav not loading without a work around.

Just the lower stress level of the long drive is worth the money.

Noticed that this seems to include continued Nav map updates. Will find out in May when 3 years of Nav updates ends

So far their update strategy has been pushing the requisites for 1.3 to all of the trucks. From a liability standpoint alone the 1.3 lane centering stack will be pushed out because the 1.0 leaves much to be desired and is unsafe in certain conditions.

I'd put $10 on them giving 1.3 for free to all trucks that paid for the 2.0 active at $2k so they can show you it doesn't suck as bad as 1.0. They have more to gain by giving it away free throughout 2024 as it appears they're going to do than to try and get people to just pay for 1.0. 1.0's rollout / updates has been a shitshow at best.

I'm really hoping to see comma break their device into 2 parts as I really don't need or want another screen where they require it. Putting the camera module below the factory camera / rearview mirror is preferred as it'd be nice and lowkey. If they find a way to pair it into android auto, that'd be fantastic.

Hope you're right, I wonder what would happen with the people that are paying $600 now to renew

Yeah if we don't get at least 1.2 on the 2021s, there is zero chance I will fork over $600. Makes zero sense to pay for a sub for service like this, if it's not being improved upon regularly.

I just received the following email from Ford regarding my blue cruise expiring.

Gotta be honest. They can offer me 600 to keep it and I’d still tell them to eat a bowl of dicks. Maybe it’s my area or maybe the BC sucks but where I live it’s not worth even turning it on. Doesn’t work right and it’s so unstable with it bouncing around I don’t trust it.

I think the $600 for 3 years is outrageous. I would pay $100 a year, one year at a time.
Could we all get together and boycott their pricing concept? The original prep price should be good for something.

Are other manufacturers doing the same thing?
