This thing is amazing! More folks need to jump on the bandwagon and get the comma 3x vs paying for blue cruise in a few months when it expires. BC sucks compared to how the Comma 3x controls the F-150 (in alpha quality even).
Have been eyeballing getting one since this thread fired up. Looks like Comma.ia usually runs a black friday special on them, or did last year at least, so might be the perfect time to snag one.

I think there are quite a few changes to get stock OP behavior. I'll grab some screenshots and shoot them to you in a DM.
I finally figured it out. I was being stupid. I was using the truck's hotspot each time I loaded new software which meant I had the truck on and it seems like some of the information was staying cached. Once I switched to my home wifi network with the truck off I was able to reload the software and change the settings.

How does it do in experimental? We found on previous builds it would stop in the middle of an intersection or race up on the bumper of another vehicle.

I’m really looking forward to Taco Bell runs.
I felt like it did rather well. The older SP I tried yesterday did not do well and exhibited those characteristics you mentioned. Since the SP-dev-c3 uses the lemon pie driving model, the long control was much better.

I am thinking of making edits to the brake pre-charging in the code and trying again. But I was happy with the current version dev c3 SP and how experimental behaved. No scares at all. ?

Ok just spent all morning creating my own repo with OP and SP in the same repo folder. These are the most up to date versions of OpenPilot and SunnyPilot as of this morning. I updated both to include the F-150 Gen 14 Fingerprint as well as the Comfort precision settings. OpenPilot is the master ci and the SunnyPilot is the dev-c3.

The installer link is:
installer.comma.ai/crashnburn0/master-ci

or…

installer.comma.ai/crashnburn0/SP-F150-10-31-23

This allows me to switch between OP or SP without needing to uninstall each time. It doesn’t matter which one you install with as you can jump back and forth between the two software versions from the software tab without performing a complete uninstall.

All I know so far is the fingerprint worked for both OP and SP and I’m going for a test drive now with SP-dev-c3.

Use at your own risk!!!
I installed the SP-F150-10-31-23 this morning and went on a 20min cruise. I did not experience good experimental on this. The longitudinal control is much better, but Ford's ACC is still better in my opinion. Also, it immediately tried to go through a stop sign and I wasn't able to get it to stop at a light. Might need some toggle adjustments. It's definitely better, but not "there" yet IMO.

What was your take on SP-dev-c3 when using the Ford LC?

It's a little better for sure. However, I do not like the "always on" lateral control. Is this the MADS? For some reason it wants to steer INTO a curve and off the road which makes no sense why it would want to do that. I'll play with it more later.

Yes, turn off MADS to get back to stock OP style control with SP bells and whistles.

I agree, even when you set MADS to "disengage lateral control" when you press the brake it still stays active. I ended up disabling MADS to kill that feature. It needs to drop lateral control without needing to manually turn off ACC every time you turn a corner.

Made a deal with myself that if I didn't win something from an auction I'd buy the Comma 3X. Well here I am, just ordered the Comma. Looking forward to getting it and thanks to all of you that have taken the first steps in making it work.

You will love it!! I immediately quit caring about when Bluecruise updates would come out. What I have is much better.

That sounds amazing. I was going to wait until 1.3 update came out as I have the serpentine issue where it bounces in the lane side to side.

Public service announcement for OP users:

For those running OP, I would suggest manually recalibrating each time you remove and reinstall your Comma3x on the windsheild bracket. I went to the airport and parked the truck in Valet. I removed the Comma3x and put it in the locked safe in the console to keep it safe. Upon return I slid it back on its mount and started driving. Evidently it wasn't mounted in exactly the same position (possibly did not have it slid completely on to the bracket prior to going to the airport). As a result I noticed I was riding the white line in the lane on the right hand side of the truck. (truck was not centered in the lane and was riding the right side of the road much too closely). Evidently it was very close to the original position so as not to trigger an automatic recalibration but still off enough to move the position of the truck in relation to the road. I pulled into a parking lot, turned off the truck, went to settings, chose to recalibrate and took off. 30 seconds later calibration was complete and life was good again.
