Got my HSW working on my '23 Platinum and wanted to pass along some lessons learned for anyone else. Thanks to all who posted in here especially the forscan codes.
... By the time I had all the modules programmed and cycled accessory mode on/off, HSW and my heated/cooled seat buttons were no longer working. I ultimately realized I needed to start the truck but I'm guessing there's a timeout on them in accessory mode.
I'm sooooo frustrated! I installed HSW, SCCM, Wire to BCM Pin 15 & grounded to dash chassis, replaced HVAC with Heated/Cooled seats & HSW buttons, and all the Forscan programming to enable the buttons to display, "Unreal" theme to see the climate controls on screen...
But the HSW still doesn't heat even with the button and screen showing it "on". Plus - now my heated seats don't work!! I have an XLT 302A that came with 3 stage heated seats (not cooled).
Is the HVAC I installed not compatible?? I've checked ALL fuses for anything blown, but specifically anything remotely related to the heated seats & wheel: Under the hood # 30, 31, & 38. In the cabin: #13 & 36.
I have not yet looked for power at the SCCM connector but that's my last ditch effort. Is it possible the ground needs to be elsewhere? Do I check for voltage across the two pins or one pin and one to chassis?
It seems most of you guys have Lariat or above. Does anyone have an XLT 302A and can share all the codes you changed? Some of you already shared codes (THANKS!) but again, those appear to be for higher trim levels and I only have heated seats (not cooled). I think it's causing a conflict between my seats/HSW/HVAC and the codes I'm trying are not compatible.

HELP!

It does not show for your VIN. At least not yet. I don't know if Ford has even gone live with it yet, so feel free to ask me to check again in another week or so. I have checked a few trucks and none shows it as an active campaign yet.
Thanks. I just found out I need the tailgate handle replaced for that new recall but those are on order. Hopefully the tailgate handle and parking brake harness parts will all be in stock when I need my next oil change in about 800 miles. I'll probably have them check when that work is being done.

I just checked your VIN again and it's still not there. The only reason I mention it is because yesterday I checked a VIN from a Lightning and that truck did have the heated steering upgrade FSA showing on it.

when you did your programming, did you load the previous vehicle module values or did you have forscan do a new module search?

I'll hook up to Forscan and take screenshots. I have all the "as built" saved and made notes but I made so many changes trying different codes & configurations, my head is spinning. I almost want to put it all back to "as built" and start over.

The new HVAC would not respond to anything when I first tried it so I loaded my "as built". Then everything worked except the HSW & my existing heated seats. After progressively loading a few Forscan changes in APIM, SCCM, IPC, & HVAC, I got the buttons to light up when pressed and the HSW icon up on the top of the display screen when selected on. BUT - still no heat to either. I've driven to work & back for the past week with both on and nothing heated for the 25 mile trips each time. I'm going to take screen shots for Jscaro (above) when I get home to see what I've changed to.

This is probably the best way to handle it anyways

That doesn’t really answer my question though, when forscan asks you to load a profile, make sure you select no (or whatever the command prompt is, it’s been a bit since I’ve used forscan) and make it reload all of your modules

When you add a new HVAC and SSCM you should
1. back up your old modules your replacing
2. replace your old modules with new ones
3. load your back up to your new modules
4. make changes to add the features you want

I always do a new scan and never save my file when it ask.

In addition to this when i started using forscan i went through the painstaking exercise of backing up the as-builts of every single module so that i always have a go-back plan if i break something

highly recommend as i have used this a few times

tony72cutlass, I'm having issues trying to make my HVAC work. I know the HSW should work with the on screen button alone. I may just sell mine. I bought it "new" on eBay. I'm hoping to find some helpful info first before pulling that trigger.

i think you will absolutely get it working, just need to backup your old as-builts (you may have to plug your original module in) and then load it onto this one. it took me awhile myself to get the hang of it.

If you do get it working i'm actually just looking for the module with only the heated seat button since i don't think i will ever add cooling!

I saved my original HVAC "as built" before removing it. I also tried reloading it to the new HVAC several times. Each time it would 'kill' the HSW & seat buttons until I updated with modified settings. I can get the buttons to light up but no heat action on either.
IF i can get this HVAC to work, my original has just the heated seats buttons without HSW or cooled seats. Is that what you are looking for?
