The 2023 PowerBoost PID's are now displayed in the OBDLink App. I have just had a chance to start working with it. It appears my PowerBoost 1.5 dashboard is not compatible with the new PID's. There appear to be many new PID's and some new modules supported.

In order to get my dashboard to work I had to rebuild the app. That means deleting the app, then setting it up as a 2023 PB (versus a 2022PB when 2023 PID's were not available), downloading the new enhanced PID's, then importing PowerBoost 1.5 dashboard.

With all of that done the PowerBoost 1.5 PID's do not map to the new PID's so I will have to go through each PID and build it up again.

Just scanning the 2023 PID library there are many, many new PID's some with a more verbose explanation of what they do.

For those with a 2023 PB I would not do anything right now or you will break the app. It will take time to digest all these changes.

Yikes, I give up. The 2023 PB Enhanced PIDs are over the top. There must be over 30,000 of them. It appears there is a PID for almost every fault code. The PCM PID list is so long it is nearly impossible to find a PID used on the 2022. Not only that they renamed most of the PIDs so the imported dashboard for the 2022 model will not pick up the same PID's for the 2023 model because the names are different.

So I am sticking with the 2022 PIDs for my 2023. @Snakebitten take a look and see if I am missing something.

All I know is that I have read the notes on the last couple of OBDLink app upgrades and noticed the mention of Ford 2023, and I think 2024, enhanced diagnostics

I thought that simply meant that they added in support for the 2023/2024, so you wouldn't have to manually select 2022 any longer if you actually had a 2023.

So I guess that was NOT what those notes meant? ?

I tried to manually add a 2023 F150, but it wanted a valid VIN.
So not exactly sure how I can get the app to provide me with the bigger PID library.

They sure did more than that. I turned my head when I saw the 30,000+ PIDs loading so I am not sure how many there are for 2023. Just PCM module alone tanks 10 minutes of fast scrolling to get to the bottom. But the real ringer is that they renamed the PIDS I used in my dashboard. I did find a couple of the old PIDs and they work with the new names. But there are so many it makes me dizzy scrolling for minutes to find them. There is no search function so you have scroll and scroll. Too much work until they improve the interface but I saw a bunch interesting PID's fly by I had not see before like front grill shudder position.

Yes it pulls the VIN from the OBD.

I reverted back to 2022. It looks good but I have to connect to the truck to make sure.

Whatever I did messing with the vehicle editor, I totally trashed the dashboard(s) ??

I'll just re-import your export file.

I still couldn't get the expanded library. But if it doesn't have a "search function", that's a deal breaker for my time and effort available.

I'm surprised there's no issue with you using your 2023 VIN and choosing 2022 in the editor. It complained to me that my VIN is for a 2022, when I manually selected 2023 for year.

Yes, messing around today I had to delete the app and reinstall it again. I will see tomorrow if it is working. I simply downloaded 2021 and 2022 after running 2023 then changed 2023 to 2022 and the dashboard appeared with all the PIDs blue, so I think it is working.

Yes, PID selection interface has to be redesigned to make use of all these new PID's. Just scrolling through it is amazing how much is being monitored in the truck. There had to be at least 5 PIDs listing various parameters associated with the front shutter.

That explains the insane number of DTC's and pinpoint tests in the 18,000 page service manual.
The vehicle IS being monitored beyond my comprehension. :)

It's kinda amazing that they can assemble one of these on the assembly line and actually have it near or at 100% functionality. If you think about it.

So to be clear if I change the settings from 23 to 22 version 1.5 may work.

Mine works now. Loaded up all the enhanced PIDs for 2021, 2022 and 2023 then told app my 2023 was a 2022 and PowerBoost 1.5 still works.

For now it is just not practical to set up the app using 2023 PID's. Too many PID's so review and test with many the names changed.

The answers to many of our lingering questions are mixed in those PIDs! Pretty cool how many data points there are. I just hope they are mostly alert generating and not executive in nature.?

Hi Snakebitten,

I've a brand new 2023, and just set up OBDLink yesterday (Saturday, Sept 30). I know it took a firmware update so I'm hoping I've got the right vehicle reg, and having seen this post now, I've held off on importing your dashboard.

If there's anything I can do to help, to list anything from my app - let me know. I'm curious whether mine registered with the correct 2023 PIDs now...

Thanks!

Well thank you kindly Mr hokie.

As you mess around with the app using its automatic VIN/year configuration, just be sure you "export" (with every check mark) anything you build yourself, and think of that file as a saved configuration.
(a file that you can easily "import" anytime)

That way if you decide to import @turbopilot or my dashboards, you can do so without concern of losing any work you accomplished yourself.

Again, thank you for the offer.
I think I'll grab a VIN from a 2023 on the lot at my local dealership (harvest online) and see what all the fuss is about with the 2023 PID library.
I've been too busy/lazy to do so yet. And the Forscan gurus have made some recent progress on some things I'd like to try too.

These trucks and programming tools we have these days are simply amazing!
