Happened to me too. Heard various noises coming from right rear wheel area and took it in….19k miles and getting full replacements.

Same for me. I spoke with the service writer when I picked the truck up, and he said they have only done two trucks so far, my 2021 and a 2023. He had to call ford to get approval for the 2023.
This makes me thing it is not a supplier issue but potentially a design issue. I'm not exactly clear on the function of this part.

Should there be a huge threaded spindle on the end of the half shaft with splines. The hub slips over the spines and you put a huge nut on the threaded spindle with a locking pin, locking ring, or just staking the huge nut to the spindle?

This has been done... since the beginning of automobiles. I'm somewhat confused as to how Ford's design works.

Just FYI here's a fairly recent update of the summary from the long thread linked on the other forum.

Yep, only 3 out of 124 reported initial failures are on builds after April 2022. IMO that's a strong case for the notion that the problem, whatever it's root cause, was resolved after that build month.

A few outliers / anomalies after that date and yes new reports continue to trickle in as the earlier builds accumulate miles.

Also attached just FYI, the latest revision of the CSP from Ford.
Hold on just a minute! Are you telling me that out of nearly 2,000,000 F-150 Trucks sold that a grand total of 124 axles had axle issues?

Good Lord I thought the sky was falling...

I wonder how many of the 124 owners are members here? It is the place to be when problems arise but it's nice to step back and realize forums are heavily skewed toward problem vehicles.

In a sense, this true.
But many on this particular forum were here before the first production vehicle was built.
Hell, I ordered before I even knew the trucks had changed from the previous generation

That's very cool. I'm here because I'm fascinated with how my PB works and want to learn its' ways. I have zero experience with hybrids prior and now it's the most expensive vehicle I have ever purchased lol.

Well not exactly. It is only those trucks with the max tow option (PB get this axle as default as well) and mainly from period of 2021 thru 2022 April. So that number of potential trucks is much much lower. And the 124 represents only those who are members of this forum who reported their bolt failing. So the real number of failures is much higher.

Putting those things together - those of us with the max tow option are pretty concerned particularly if we are back to having parts shortages. Some people have lost their trucks for weeks or months waiting in repairs.

My bad. I thought that was some official Ford count. Good job tracking the issue for the members. The axle specific % is likely much higher as well as the overall numbers Ford keeps.

Still have not heard back from Dealer on the Parts. Hopefully the Ford people who read these threads will get back to me.

I was under the impression that the PB doesn't automatically get this axle; only a PB with the Max Tow package.

True?

I could be wrong but believe PB gets it as std given extra wt of battery (gets the 7050lb for 5ft box gross wt) Someone with PB should comment though - don't take my belief as fact.

I have a PB but no Max Tow. I found this image on another post. Is this the correct way to check what axle I have?

I just checked, and my 2021 PB without Max Tow (only Tow Tech) has the 9.75 STD (non-HD).

The PB definitely does not get the 9.75HD axle standard. It has to have the MaxTow option like every other model.

The PB does get a thicker frame not shown in the spec document, that only it gets.
