*Update* my truck is at the dealership. They gave me a 2024 Ford Edge to drive as a loaner while they take care of the truck. Along with this resonator thing they are going to check the ebrake recall harness and then my driver rear door doesn't shut easily like all the others but does stay latched. I will provide an update with what they found and a hopefully easy remedy for the rest of you guys.

Not sure if this is a known thing or even an issue at all, and wondering if anyone else notices especially when towing, that when the Y pipe of the exhaust turns into the single pipe section and i believe its that resonator before the muffler, if I drive for considerable amount of time or when towing, I notice that section of my exhaust kind of makes a rattling sound almost as if there's a loose exhaust clamp but the sound is inside the resonator. I'll have to get a sound clip but just wanted to ask if anyone else notices it and if you've done anything to fix it.

Yep same here. I dont tow but when the truck has been driven for a little while , i also notice this rattle/almost like loose screw. Toward the back area so i take it same as yours. I can also hear it when i close the door shut. I need to get under there to double check what exactly it is.

Hello, Chad! Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer. I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this concern. Thanks!

I can confirm the noise is coming from either the resonator itself or the piping literally right after it . It was loud yesterday after some driving so i got under and knocked around until i found it was resonator or the pipe right before it. Sad part is i mentioned it to my service advisor couple months ago , i even showed him a video I made and of course " Dealer couldn't duplicate problem"

Would you mind taking a picture for me, please? I'll get under and hammer on it or makeshift something because the noise in my truck with 9k miles is annoying, which is sad.

Similar issue here. Noise is made when you close doors, and mainly at start up (rougher idle). It's fairly loud.

I mainly notice the rattle after longer drives when I shut my door, if the exhaust isn't hot enough I don't hear it. I also noticed that my truck starts to pull timing after it passes a certain temperature, and it didn't always do this. I'm pretty the rattle from the exhaust is getting picked up by the knock sensors.

Think I am in the boat. Just over 10k miles and noticed on my last trip up north(3 hour drive). Most of my drives are 20 min or less and don't hear it after those drives.

Yup, same noise here. Very embarrassing rattle when you close the door after a drive and the truck has warmed up. My ‘21 2.7 did the same thing. Agree that it sounds like it’s coming from inside the resonator. Hangers and clamps all look good. I’ve noticed it pretty much since day 2. Would love to find a resolution for it.

I've noticed this recently as well. 2021 with just over 20k miles. Closing rear doors and sounds like a metal rattle from the undercarriage. But for me it only happens when the truck has been off for hours, like first thing in the morning or when leaving the office end of day. I don't recall hearing it when the truck has been running for at least 20mins and is warmed up. I haven't had time to check to see what is happening.

Yep, same rattle down there when doors are closed. So annoying and makes a new fancy truck sound like a POS.
