Yesterday I visited the local Ford dealer to confirm that ML3Z-1A189-F was the correct part to order for my 2023 Lariat PB. When looking on line it seems this part is only for the Lightning. Interestingly enough was that the parts man called his distributor to verify and was told that tpms and camera were only available for Super Duty trucks.

I have verified I have the correct connector under the bumper to make the install.

In short, is ML3Z-1A189-F the correct part number for a PB even though Ford shows it for Lightning only?
The SuperDuty kit works fine with the F150.

I don't know if I ever posted, but I followed the directions on the thread from this website and got trailer TPMS plus trailer camera working.

Like amschind above, I also got it working, just this weekend in fact. Hardwired the camera in, got the TPMS sensor installed on the trailer frame and it's all working perfectly.

So, to reiterate the correct parts:

2022 XLT PB 302A with 360 cams, Max Tow and Pro-Trailer Backup Assist:
Rear Bumper Harness: ML3Z-13A576-PB
Camera and TPMS Kit: LC3Z-1A189-A

Yes, the camera kit states that it's for a Super Duty. Yes, the kit works on an F-150.

To ensure that your truck can show the correct data on the screens, you need to look for tire pressure stuff in your dash display under the towing heading and also for a camera indicator on your main 12" camera selector that as a picture of a camera with a little + on it "Aux Camera". If you don't have those, you'll need to dork around in Forscan and could potentially not have the correct wires going to the rear bumper. My build had those things on the screens from the factory.

Keep in mind that the Camera and TPMS Kit does NOT come with a Yaw sensor, but does come with the correct connector on the harness for one. I went to eBay to get the Yaw kit, which will arrive with with another cable that I simply won't need/use.

A couple other tidbits now that I towed with it yesterday.

The TPMS takes a minute to boot up after you get rolling. This may be common to other TPMS systems, but it's my first so I thought I'd let others know. My complete noob guess is that they get power from centripetal force or something and it takes a few laps around the tire to generate some juice.

The rear camera is fairly low res and framerate. I'd guess it might be 720 and the framerate goes up and down a bit for some reason. It's still super useful, especially when in motion to check behind the trailer when changing lanes/maneuvering, but definitely don't expect super high quality. For $1000+ CAD that's kind of disappointing.

All in all I'm more pleased than not with the setup, plus it is always fun for me to dork around with stuff like this, so there was a pleasure/accomplishment component to getting it all working.

Cheers!

Just FYI each TPMS is powered by an internal battery as are your OE F150 TPMS. The slight 'initial lag' in reporting pressure is due to the battery-saving 'TPMS wake from sleep' triggered by rolling motion + the polling interval for the trailer reporting system.

The rear camera is fairly low res and framerate.....
Agreed, but like you suggest, the integrated aspect more than offsets that, IMO. I've found the image perfectly suitable for 'spot checking what's behind' when on the road moving forward and more than adequate for a rear-view when backing my trailer in tight quarters, the former being the real benefit of the cam, especially for a solo-traveler lacking a human-spotter.

The lack of infrared / night lighting may disappoint some, but with adequate trailer backup lights that's not been an issue for me.

I'm still absolutely loving my integrated Ford Accessory TPMS+Rear Cam, much much more than any aftermarket TPMS and rear cam I've had before, even those with more high-tech cam features. The absence of separate displays and cords in the cabin is priceless for me.

100% having the TPMS on the dash and the camera integrated into the Sync display is well worth it to me also. Maybe in the future, they'll offer an HD/IR camera upgrade that is plug and play with the current harness. We can dream! (and dream it won't be $500 haha)

Where would you mount the aux camera on the back of a boat trailer? Obviously do not want to dunk it in salt water.

IMO that's a question best asked on a boating forum; it's a boater's issue no matter what brand rear cam is used.

I don't have any experience towing or loading boats, so this might not be feasible, but don't many boat trailers have vertical guide poles on each side? Could you maybe mount a camera on one of those? It wouldn't be centered, but would probably get the job done.

I don't want to beat a dead horse here but after reading all 23 pages of this thread I want to make sure harness ML3Z-13A576-TFA, which is for the dual exhaust F-150s will work with my single exhaust 2021 F-150 PB. My dealer sold me my truck claiming I could use have the backup camera and TPMS trailer sensors. They included the LC3Z-1A189A kit but back in early 2022 the harness was not correct on my truck and Ford was not making it. I SOLD the camera and TPMS kit thinking I was never going to get it to work. I told my dealer about ML3Z-13A576-TFA BEFORE I read it was for the dual exhaust truck.

So my question is, will the ML3Z-13A576-TFA work other than the bracket for the dual exhaust? I don't want to go back to the dealer and tell then they need to order ML3Z-13A576-J instead of the TFA part number.

I only care about the TPMS at this time. I bought a wireless camera kit that works fine but I still want to get tire pressures and temps with the display I currently see on my instrument cluster.

Thanks in advance.

In a word: Yes.

You can, as I did, slice the wrap from the new harness at the plastic dual-exhaust mounts and transfer the plastic clips from your old single-exhaust harness to the new harness in the appropriate locations. A bit of effort but it worked out fine.

IF I had the opportunity to get the 'correct' single-exhaust harness rather than mess with ^that^, I would do so.

Thanks for the reply, I hear what you're saying.

Any chance of posting some pictures of how you connected the wiring harness underneath the truck? I pretty much have your same exact setup and I am a bit confused on where the Rear Bumper Harness gets attached too.

Hi @Emmittfan22

I didn't put the harness in myself. My truck got crashed into in my driveway, so the repair facility put in the new harness instead of my old one when they were putting the box back on. However, I do have a pic of the truck with box off and have circled where the main connector for the harness is. Hope that helps!
