I had a similar experience with updates back in Sept 2022.
No indication I ever received 2.8.2 or 2.8.3.

◯ 22-PU0707-SCH-POPB - 9/16/22
◯ BlueCruise - 9/15/22
◯ 22-PU0727-V1-FXB - 9/15/22
◯ 2.8.1 - 9/14/22
◯ 2.7.4 - 9/9/22
◯ 2.7.3 - 9/6/22

Where to you find the version numbers?

Well this is exactly the sequence @Txmade and myself just got. Have you gotten more updates since then? I'd love to get full screen carplay too, hopefully that may be in the not to distant future for me.
I had long lag after receiving 3.5.2 but picked up again in Jan.
Good luck. It’s hard to be patient sometimes.

◯ 22-PU1007-DOR-UP - 2/25/23
◯ 22-PU1009-TLC-CSM - 2/10/23
◯ 3.5.4 - 1/28/23
◯ 3.5.3 - 1/26/23
◯ 3.5.2 - 10/6/22
◯ 22-PU0707-SCH-POPB - 9/16/22

I was told by someone on here that I need my APIM replaced, but I got an email tonight saying that my truck should be getting an update to Sync4a soon. I guess I’ll wait and see if anything actually materializes…

Ford Pass or onscreen notification after receiving OTA update.
This. You won’t see it until you get your first update. It’s weird like that.

Thanks. Sounds like the truck has never gotten a single OTA update in 17 months and thus no update version history. Weird it would give message saying, “Up to date”.

Not necessarily. There’s a VIN lookup thread in this forum. Pos your VIN there and some folks can probably help figure out where you are.

Not weird. Just unhelpful. The menu you pulled up only identifies the last OTA update you received in the last 90 days. If you haven’t received anything OTA in the last 90 days, it defaults to ”up to date” whether you actually are current or not.

if you are in northern Illinois, can you recommend a good dealership to service our trucks?

Unfortunately, no. I have one that seems pretty good on the mechanical side but I think a lot of dealers in the area can handle that. I stopped looking for dealers to handle the electronics/software after the first one I used was unable to deal with a TCU problem. I’m not saying that there are no dealers that can do the work, I’m only saying that I don’t use one.

Before this thread gets too deep, I would like to remind everyone that I am just a car salesman and everything I have learned, I have learned from following the forums, dealing with my own Job 1 truck's OTA issues, and asking questions to a few select guys on here that are very knowledgeable on these trucks and the issues associated with it. If you have a job 1 truck and you cannot toggle auto-updates on and off and are on Sync version 20301 or below, then there is a very good chance your truck fell victim to a faulty APIM update (1.7.1) that was putting trucks in an OTA limbo and preventing more updates from coming in. When I check people's VINs for OTA statuses and I see no update history in 60 days, I then check the build dates to see if it is a job one and then I check their Sync version to see if it is 20301. If I see that red flag, I always refer them to the dealer with an explanation of what is going on with their truck or suggest the FDRS route. I have found countless trucks stuck in OTA limbo.

The problem is, people think that just because they haven't gotten an update in "x" amount of time, they are affected by this issue, and that is not the case. Any job 1 owner who is behind on updates can just be at the mercy of Ford's OTA process to get the next update sent to them and not necessarily "stuck". Most trucks are not "stuck". Every time I find one, I let the owner know their truck needs some kind of help to get past the point it is at. Most people do not want to touch FDRS with a ten foot pole, and I get it, as it can be intimidating.
Sounds like some who were stuck are now unstuck. Has anyone that fits the description above received these recent updates?

I was a Job 1 truck that had NEVER received an update. My version was blank and the auto updates was grayed out. It took my dealership 6 months to finally get it to take an update. They worked a long time with Ford engineers to solve it. The write up about the work they did over the last week is 2 pages long. Hopefully now they have it figured out for others who were in the same boat.

You know it's bad when you are on a first name basis with the local Ford engineer and the entire service department knows your truck.

Now I have to fight with Ford over my Ford Pass. When they started trying to get the updates, they were doing Master resets which was resetting Ford Pass. It acted like I had just bought the truck. I lost all my points. I figured I'd wait until they got the update issue worked out and then I'd work on getting Ford Pass restored.
