Does anyone know if the active motion massage seats can be added after purchase or if they will be a retro fit from ford at a latter date

I performed the install by myself with support from Jesse and another members who was kind enough to share his FORScan file. Saved me from hand entering the changes! From seat removal to install took 4 hours including FORScan changes. I did the cup holder, media bin and glove box lights while the seats were out.
Well I would just like the truck to be where it should be... if for no other reason then the resale aspect.
Ill end up doing it, just need to find a guy. Do we have a Jesse-Info.... in Spokane, WA, Couer d'Alene Idaho area?

I’m on the fence about this retrofit. The ONLY reason I would retrofit it is simply because I can. The MCS is IMO, very underwhelming and frankly useless (again, this is my opinion, I understand many people love the feature) and I have never used it in any vehicle I have owned that had MCS from the factory. But I have REALLY been enjoying retrofitting OEM parts on my truck
Definitely a "to each their own" situation here...
We have 102 steps at our lake place so monkeying up and down those all weekend, jetskiing and boating its nice* to have the massagers for the 50 minute drive home. Im not getting any younger so the seats are a welcome bonus.

So Sparks and Jesse also, when you say you did the ambient lighting change etc. Was that just more items you chose to install or did adding the MCS modules initiate this other items?
I am also missing Park assist and would like to have that, (not that I need it), but again, want the truck to be 'whole' and 'complete' to its Window Sticker.

O for sure, I’m not saying it’s not useful or good, I’m just saying it’s not useful or good for me

The ambient lighting was not related to the mcs. I added the media bin, cup holders, glove box and will add the upper glove box soon. The doors will have to wait for the back ordered parts.

For me it’s about adding the features back into the vehicle after ford removed them because I can. The mcs was great for 16 hours of drive time last week.

The APA is the only outstanding item to tackle. Hopefully soon.

Does anyone know why these are two drastically different prices?

SEAT BACK BLADDER - MU5Z5865501A (DRIVER) $133 (on sale)
https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/ford-adjuster-assembly-seat-back-mu5z5865501a
SEAT BACK BLADDER - MU5Z1565500A (PASSENGER) $333 (not on sale)
https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/ford-lumbar-adjuster-mu5z1565500a

The more expensive one has a picture and the description says it's for right and left. The less expensive one doesn't have any description or picture.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to buy the cheaper driver side. Wishing I could use it on the passenger side also.

Hello all, I have been asked for some additional info on the install from a few people recently. I will post a very rough version below and hopefully it helps. I plan on a much cleaner writeup with photos but have not found the time yet. You will need the full list of parts that @Jesse-Infotainment provided. I also took the opportunity with the seats removed to install the ambient lighting media bin, cup holders and glovebox from another thread. I had no issues removing the seat and center console bolts with a cordless ratchet but did see others used an impact and had some bolt failures. I am sure I didn't use the correct terminology for a few parts but you should get the idea.

Once you remove the four seat bolts you can unplug the seat connector and remove the seat from the truck. I found it helpful to move the seat up as much as possible to gain working area underneath. The side panel for the seat controls has two screws and then you will see behind it that it moves over the seat back hinge area tab and then slides to the front of the seat to be removed. There is one electrical connector for the seat controls to be unplugged. The lower cushion cover has plastic J hook strips that you can roll off and unclip on three sides. You do not need to remove the cover or cushion. If you lift the cushion half way up you will see two holes towards the front edge where you will install two of the clips to hold the new air bladder assembly in place. The lower bladder goes under the cushion and aligns with the hole for the cooled seats. Pass the module through the hole so it will be under the seat. I installed the air pump and screws prior to the lower bladder being push pinned into place. I believe the drivers side has the screws from the top of the frame into the pump bracket. If you clip the bladder down first you cannot access the screw holes. The seat back unzips from the back corners and you will see 2 elastic straps to be removed, held in by two electric connectors. The lower seat back has a strip across that is like a J channel, you can unfold or gently pry it apart. Once you see the original lumbar system it can be removed and replaced with the new bladder assembly. The upper and lower wire harnesses get removed and replaced with the new ones. They have the same routing, clips and supports but they have a few additional connectors for the air bladder controllers. I did loosen but not remove the seat side air bags to get easier access to the electrical connectors. The passenger seat lower had one additional connector that was not used in my truck. To re-zip the seat back I used two zip ties and gently worked between the two sides to get them all the way down. The J channel strip almost folds into the other half and snaps back into place. The elastic straps were last then the connectors to hold them. The switches on the side trim get replaced with a few screws and the side trim gets reinstalled. Bolt the seats back in and reconnect the harness to the truck. Use Forscan to find the new seat modules and load the data. The seat portion should have taken me 2-3 hours but I had a lot of start and stop time wasted. The Forscan piece is 15-20 minutes. I have the two as built files for the seat modules if you need them. I hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for the write up. I plan on doing this retrofit soon.

Are the MCS run off of the DSM or do they have their own module like older vehicles?

I've been looking into various options and found that the fuse box under-hood and the first set of harnesses appear to be for all trims (perhaps a PB thing?). Unfortunately the first harness is where it ends :(

technically yes, but it may throw a code. Installing the pump and switch in the pass seat would likely make it happy. It'd only be another $500 to finish at that point though.
