If @BarryT82 was looking for a PCM update, then he still needs PU1010. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10227492-0001.pdf
Is the equivalent of PU1010 available in FDRS? This was posted to the NHTSA on 11/30/22, and I updated my truck 9/16. I never hooked it up to FDRS again until last Sunday, and I didn't have a PCM update available. Only the APIM and CMR, and then of course the TCU update after I did the APIM.

Unless the PCM update was already in FDRS way before they posted it on NHTSA?

Yes. I updated my ABS and PCM (the Powerboost version of PU1010) in December, about two weeks after the NHTSA posting.

Hi new member. I have been reading up on the OTA updates, bought a mongoose cable and I am prepared to run through the FDRS updates, just waiting on a free day. Before I do, can someone run my VIN for the OTA history, and confirm why I only have 2.6.0?

VIN: 1FTFW1E83MFA65490

Thanks

There is no clear answer to your question. The reason your truck is not up to date is because Ford's OTA process is garbage, However, if you have a Mongoose, there is nothing to worry about as you do not need to depend on their broken process to get your truck up to date.

In my case, my truck was stuck at 2.7.4 and it took me 13 hours straight to get my truck up to date, so yes, plan accordingly. When you're ready, pull up a list of available FDRS updates and post it on this thread:

https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/ecu-module-programming-guide-using-fdrs.8249/

That thread is followed by many knowledgeable people that will be happy to guide you through the process. The order in which you apply updates can be relevant. While the process may seem intimidating to someone who has never used FDRS before, it really isn't that difficult so much as time consuming.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I was hoping to see my OTA Queue, or if there were failures.

I update the thread as noted once I get the time to run through the updates.

Your truck got an APIM update in January and 2.6.0 was sent to you on 2/15 successfully, and then for some reason it was sent to you again the next day which it failed since your truck already had the update. So your truck has gotten some love lately. If you wait, you will eventually get another update sent, but it will be a while before you are fully up to date if you depend on the OTAs.

I’ve had it at the dealership a few times and they haven’t updated the PCM. I guess that I’ll have to get a cable and do it myself.
If your primary concern is the PCM and transmission performance, and you really aren’t too concerned about other modules, go back to your dealer and tell them there is a TSB for your issue and the remedy is to reprogram the PCM. If the dealer can tie your complaint to the software for a specific module, they are much more likely to do the work because they can bill the update as a repair under warranty. There are a lot of TSBs that call for a PCM update, but this sounds like your issue. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10214124-0001.pdf

Would you be able to check my VIN? 1FTEW1EP2MFB74168

Still on 3.5.2 and wondering what is holding it up from updating to 3.5.3

Thanks!

Hey there folks,

Any of you dealer guys have access to the factory as built files? I'm told in certain cases where the file from the motorcraft as built website isn't up to snuff, an original of the original can be obtained directly from ford.

Was i lied to?

My backed up IPC file from when i bought my truck will not load in forscan. it's kind of strange because all the others will. i can even load a more recent IPC backup, just never the original.

Let me know any thoughts if it's possible and i'll post my vin

3.5.3 was sent to you on 1/26, but the OTA trigger timed out two weeks later before it was able to download the files. There is nothing you did wrong or could have done differently. This has happened to countless trucks recently with the current rollout of 3.5.3 and 3.5.3.2.

Have you updated your IPC since you bought it? If so, then it’s likely that the update added additional lines of code and no backups made prior to the update—even the original from the factory—will load. There will always be a mismatch between the as-builts before the update and those after. It’s probably why your most recent backups work fine, if you made them after you last updated the IPC.

I’m in the same boat as Eased (my truck is on 3.5.2….waiting…waiting). Just wondering, what features would come with 3.5.3 & 3.5.3.2

I have a 2021 XLT 3.5L EB , if that makes a difference.
Thanks!

3.5.3.2 is for 2022 trucks, but they're one and the same as far as what you get with it. This update gives you full screen carplay/android auto capability. 3.5.4 gives you dual phone connectivity.

I did update the truck with fdrs but there were no ipc updates that needed to be done at that time. The ipc backup loading issues have been the same before updating anything and are the exact same after updating the rest of the truck.
