Turned the stereo off both screens read audio off

Turned the stereo on it was playing but the dashboard read audio off.

cycled back and forth between audio audio sources am and The center display dash finally went to normal.

I can’t seem to get now playing to pop up on the dash, I don’t have B&O don’t know if that is the difference?

DAB isn't relevant to North America so no sense monkeying with that. Looks like you have an update downloaded in Sync so might want to go ahead and run that if you haven't already.

To be honest I've never enabled that screen on the instrument cluster so I didn't know that was an issue. I'll look into it. For what it's worth, I seem to recall when I made the change to my ACM my volume indicator was at zero and I had no audio control. Turning the audio off/on (pressing the volume button) returned that to normal.

Same here was just playing with it because of Ranual observations.

All I can do with the dash read outs is switch from AM, Xm and FM.

I think the fix is to not enable the screen. :) (out of sight, out of mind). LOL.

Now that I've got the APIM and ACM GUI interface working as it should, I'm going to focus on a permanent antenna solution. I'll reply to the OP with my results.

Thanks again (@XLT22, @Wallyo and others), for all your help!

Buying a new truck without XM is what brought me here so this is my first post. I’m wanting to add only XM and retain all FordPass app stuff. It looks like my ACM is xm ready. So what would be my next step to verify in this process? The pics will show what I have to work with.

Read page 1 first post, XLT22 Has done a very good job adding to and editing when all of us learned more about it.

Overall pretty simple you need Forscan and a bidirectional cable.

Then decide how you are going to add the antenna . That it! About 1-2 hours time.

Post your trim level and which stereo system you have it doesn’t make too much difference. But some small quirky items have popped up for some.

Just starting to look into this.
For sure need to replace the APIM with one that has Nav built it. Not sure if the GPS antenna is already there, if so, seems like an easy install. Not sure what changes will need to be made in forscan yet.
I'm completed my getting the Sirius XM working in my truck. I have a "temporary" antenna solution where an old used Sirus XM antenna is attached directly to the back of the ACM in the dash. I haven't addressed the rear cab Sat/GPS/Cellular antennas or the OEM cabling mentioned in this post. Before I do that, I would like to know what's required to add back the "connected nav" that was removed along with the SiriusXM. It sounds like I need a nav-ready APIM or something. How do I find out if my APIM is Nav ready? If it is, do I just enable something in Forscan? If not, what issues will I have finding and installing a nav-ready APIM?

Also, is there a difference between connected Nav and the Navigation you order as an option? On my 2020 F-150, I had the Navigation option, there was no "connected nav" on that vehicle. I think connected nav is something new for 2021-2023.

I can say with almost 100% certainty that you do not have an APIM with nav. That is the part that was unavailable that caused the trucks to get nav deleted.

What you will be looking for is an APIM from a 22MY truck (otherwise you will have issues getting OTA updates) with all the connectors on the left side present. If it is missing the blue connector, it doesn't have nav, if its missing the brown connector, it's for the 8" screen and not the 12" screen.

Just saw your question about connected nav, As of now it is not possible to get the connected features to work on nav deleted trucks. You can make the nav work but it will not pull live data for traffic, weather, fuel stations and so on. The problem is, if your truck did not have connected nav from the factory then your vin doesn't get a subscription option in ford pass. I plan on talking to my dealer and possibly with Ford directly about this. But I don't have high hopes.

Actually... Jesse messaged me after I said the same a couple days ago and said he got it all working with his magic, so there is a way, but I imagine it involves the dealer and/or Ford to enable things on the backside is the main part of it.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too.
I know for sure it requires changes to the unmapped GWM which in itself is a challenge but even after you get it programmed correctly, the truck still cant pull live data. Which I believe is going to be on ford's side. Hopefully Ford will be understanding to all the people that had to buy nav deleted trucks and give us an on ramp to getting connected services.

I guess the only way to know for sure is to pull the APIM and visually inspect it. Do you know if I can view the APIM with the ACM head unit removed, or do i need to pull the screen out?

At this point, i think I am going to stop working on the nav part and focus on getting the SiriusXM permanently connected. I'm thinking I can use the existing antennas and just make some "creative" cable connections. I'm going to order the cables tonight and plan to work on this the weekend. I'll revisit the nav APIM later, maybe there will be some developments at Ford. Fingers crossed.

Just to add a thought on this and don’t take it the wrong way if you want to try and add nav go for it the main benefit as I understand it is in very remote areas you will get live updates since it is sat based.

But navigation with car play works so well in cell areas and If you have a route set your progress is still tracked in dead cell areas.

So just give some thought if it is worth it
