@scuba How has your solution been working? I've been looking for a solution for a while! ThanksAlright dudes, mission accomplished. Will send pics of my solution. Shocker that my first major contribution to this forum coincides with my first colonoscopy tomorrow. ?
So I went for a physical solution rather than grounding the switch-- based on ease of access and inexperience with electrical.
1. Remove top of work surface. 1a. unclip "Ford" trim piece at rear of work surface to reveal two small torx screws holding a 3in metal strip that keeps the top on the track that the thing slides in.
2. Slide the work surface top off of the front.
3. This reveal the sensor switch on the driver's side. Figure out a way to keep it depressed (depressing indicates the surface is stowed). I used pipe cleaners.
