Uploaded version 2022.09.10 to GitHub and Play Store. But just in case people skim the change log (or get it from the Play Store), I've disabled trying to pull the OTA info. Ford made a change to the API and I haven't found a way around it. The widget will still display the last info that was stored prior to the API changing.
Loving the widget but figured I'd resurrect this thread to ask if you've had any luck restoring the OTA info function. My truck has been getting rapid fire OTA updates the last month and always liked how your Android app would notify me well before the truck does...

I've been working on it periodically (in fact, I was planning to test some things this week but life intervened). In the meantime, this trick still works although it's not as convenient.

Looks like Ford removed the "Software Updates" button from the website? I can't remember what it was called, but all I see related to OTAs is "Sync Updates" button now. Can someone confirm? If so, looks like we lost another way to track OTA status because the trick mentioned above no longer works for me...

I have been searching for a solution, and thankfully Google brought me to this thread. Do you plan on adding this to the Ford Superduty lineup? I have added it to my phone and it is mostly working.

My main errors are that it is the picture of the Mach E instead of the F-150, and when I tap on the lock or remote start the widget application opens up sending of sending the signal to the truck.

Thanks for all your help with the Ford community.

Uploaded version 2022.11.04 to GitHub and Play Store. The main change most will notice (which I'd been meaning to do, but was motivated to finish today) is disabling display of OTA info. It still saves the last info that was downloaded prior to the API changing, but you just can't see it. I'm still hopeful Ford will again expose this part of the API someday.

The other change is the app now "supports" all North American trucks:
  • F-250 and F-350 VINs are now recognized as either regular, super cab, or crew cabs, and
  • anything else whose VIN begins with 1FT is displayed as a regular cab F-150 (thanks to @mds2004 for this suggestion).
I'm mentioning this here since I only have graphics for F-150s, but I do still have some donated funds which could be used to buy specific F-250 or F-350 graphics if there's enough interest from those owners.

Just a friendly heads up that my widget hasn't updated in 2 days. I've updated FordPass then hit "Refresh" in the widget several times in the past couple days but the widget isn't updating with tire PSI or range/fuel capacity percentage.

Honestly, since the OTA notifications stopped working I only use the widget anymore to double check that I remembered to lock the truck before bed or at the office. All other info can be grabbed from FordPass, but the widget is definitely easier/quicker at a glance.

Thanks again!

If you want me to look into it, please save a logfile and open an new issue on GitHub.

I agree with you about the widget's utility; the OTA info was probably the most useful thing for me. Hopefully Ford will release an official API for it sometime.

The widget accepts my login information but fails to get a list of vehicles.
Capture a logfile while you log in, and attach to a new issue on GitHub. I'll take a look.

Uploaded version 2022.12.07 to GitHub and Play Store. This version makes some changes to address the unauthorized third party issue. While I'm still working to get "authorized" status, this version does the following:
  • Displays an explanation about the account lockouts, since some users are not aware that's an issue (and although I've not confirmed the app can cause it, it's likely). It also give some suggestions for how to limit your chances of getting locked out
  • Removes the use of stored credentials (i.e, using your username/password to re-login if the token is lost).
  • Extends the minimum refresh frequency to 15 minutes.
  • Add a "hibernation" setting. Enabling this will stop the app from automatically pulling data until some point in the future when either there is a public API or we get approved access from Ford. This basically lets you keep the app on your phone without it doing anything, and hopefully one day it will send you a notice saying "everything's safe again".

Update: in the continuing game of whack-a-mole, looks like Ford changed the API again so the app isn't able to get a list of VINs for your account upon log-in (this confirm the problems reported by @Jbravo and @Cb Mw above). I advise saving a back-up of your settings for future reference; worst case scenario I can let you use it to restore that info later on.
