BAP is all appearance. FX4 gets skid plates, better suspension, locking rear diff.
I take FX over BAP everytine.

Blacked out has run its course and is palyed out.
To be fair, the skid plates are plastic and the better suspension is actually worse. You do get the stickers and locking diff, but you might as well just buy the locking diff by itself.

IMO, if it wasn't a PB, I would get the FX4 strictly for the locking rear diff. Since the PB already has this, I would get the BAP.

Very good point. The BAP is about 10 hours away from me ??

If i didnt want/have a 6.5' bed i would have tried to go for both. If i had one choice...i think i'd go with BAP because i like look of it.
Same. Still don't know why you can't get BAP with a 157" wheelbase.

You can do a chrome delete on the FX version for under 1K total if you take it to a pro for paint/wrap work. Cheaper if you're the DIY kind of person. Plus it allows you to customize more it to your liking.

Yes the FX shocks are crap. The rebound is too soft so can occasionally pogo stick down the road. This is easily solved for a few hundred bucks and a set of Bilstein 5100's. The rears are a breeze to install. Takes about 20 minutes with a couple wrenches. The fronts are a little more involved but you can also level it at the same time and do it on a nice Saturday. Once you do that just use your Ford points you got for buying the truck to have the dealer to do an alignment on it after the front is lifted and strut replaced. If you want to do that of course.

BAP package hands down, locking rear diff is an option on most trucks even without the FX4 (I have locking diff and no FX4). The fx4 "upgraded rancho shocks" aren't really an upgrade, skid plates are an easy install while the BAP goodies are harder to install vs bolting on some skid plates. The BAP comes with leather seats. Also if you plan to level your truck they have to remove the front shocks anyways and at that point you can do an actual upgrade to the suspension if you want a better ride. If you do plan to level your truck you can actually get a better bang for your buck not going with the FX4. For example, the FX4 package cost $1,050, add in the price of a spacer level kit with install and alignment of about $750 ish and you're at $1800+/- for a leveled truck setup on not so great front shocks and stock rear shocks. Now if you didn't add the package and installed some $480 Bilstein 5100s (front and rear), $350 for install and alignment, and RCI Skid plates $975 you're at $1805+/- which is around the same price but you get an actual upgraded front AND rear suspension, and way better skid plates. The BAP is a way better value package for package, just some food for thought.

If your advice is to go with the FX4 and do an expensive chrome delete with paint/wrap work AND ditching the stock fx4 you already paid for to upgrade to a better set of leveled Bilstein 5100s you are steering my brother in the least cost effective route. Doesn't many any sense vs just getting the BAP and then installing Bilstein 5100s and some skid plates. If he went that route the only thing he would keep from the FX4 package is the skid plates which ironically is the easiest thing to install (literally just a bolt on) vs everything else.

It was more of pointing out that while OP likes the BAP version, the FX can be easily customized to his liking rather inexpensively. I made the suggestion as OP stated the BAP truck is 10 hours away where the FX is significantly closer to him. Does he have to do a chrome delete? No. Hell he may decide he likes the way it looks and wants to leave it as it is. As for the shock upgrade, who knows OP may like how the FX rides, many do and have no desire to change it. A good quality level kit runs about 60 bucks and easy to install with the OEM dampers if he wants to do that. These were just things OP could do if he wanted to, either right away, down the road, or never.

THANK YOU!
makes zero sense! especially since its an appearance package and the ONLY different between BAP trucks and mine is the damn bed length! Ford should do like BMW in the sense that you can order the darker headlights and taillights as stand-alone options.

To the OP, I'd encourage you to drive it a while and decide whether or not the rear shocks are needed. I found, coming from a Fox 2.0 equipped 2019, that I don't feel an urge to rush out and replace them on my 2022 PB. I suspect the added mass of the battery in the back helps to tame the rear end more than my previous truck.

Same reason you can't get the BAP on a Race Red, Antimatter Blue, or Space White truck....because Ford says so. It makes zero sense.

Cause a 6.5" bed isn't "Sporty"...

FX4 if you like flushing your money down the toilet. FX4 "Better suspension" is a euphemism for rides like shit
Exactly, the new FX4 packages are so watered down, they should call it the FX0.4 now; because other than the locking diff that comes included on other packages, you can easily add everything else and have it come out better suited off-road.

It doesn’t mean what it used to and they keep adding newer shit like Tremor and Rattler and even then, it’s cheaper to fit most of the value added parts yourself and come out ahead, which defeats the original purpose of factory packages.

Most likely because they don’t want to stock more than one dual exhaust setup. Pretty much everything cool is limited to the 145.4” crew cab configuration. Which sucks if you want a longer bed or don’t want to get stuck driving people around because you have a bigger nicer vehicle.
