Is this rust normal on this parl

Hello.
Did a tire swap and noticed this rust. Is this normal and should I apply a layer of machine grease to slow down the rust?

It probably is normal, but I would take care of it anyway. Not sure about the grease though. Permatex makes a product called Rust Treatment. It's a liquid that you paint over the rust. it turns black and seals the rust. I got mine from Amazon and a little goes a long way. Good luck!

Normal for unprotected steel parts to rust? Yes.
Is it going to hurt anything with that rust? Maybe in 20-30 years.

I just load that spot with wheel bearing grease and good to go. Mine is 10X worse with the salt from the winter.

I just noticed your in TO. Load 'er up before the salt hits the ground!!

Another thing i do is put anti-sneeze around the hub where the wheel slips on so that they're easier to get off in the spring.

Totally forgot about anti seize and I have already switched the tires over…
