All I updated were the models. It would say "F150" for every update that pertained to a truck, when some of them were only for the Lightning. There were other updates that only said Mach E, but they pertained to the F150, as well, so I corrected that. Any updates that list a Sync revision in it seems to have been copied and pasted by whoever first set up the page. I didn't add Sync versions to the wiki, as I am not sure which updates did change the sync version and if it changed it, I don't know what it changed it to. I had to take the FDRS route to get my truck up to date, so I did not get the updates naturally to be able to see the changes as they happened. Not to mention, with all the different sync versions that are out there, it would be impossible to get that accurate. We do know that 3.5.3. gives you sync 22228 and we are hoping that going forward, everything will be unified and easier to keep track of.It is an awesome guide now that you improved it. I just don't see where software versions 22192 and 22228 come in.
I think it is safe to add to the wiki that 3.5.3 includes Sync 22228, but only for F150's. We'd have to look at the people on the Mach E forums to see if their Sync is also 22228 after this OTA to see if it is unified across both vehicles and not just the F150.@rugedraw
But he's right - nowhere on the Wiki spreadsheet is "Updated SYNC to Software Version: 22192_PRODUCT Revision: 498"
Was this left out on purpose?
EDIT: Nevermind, think you answered below - we were typing at the exact same time!
Is the "truck data plan" something the truck has from the factory for the OTA's alone, or do you mean the optional buy-up plans to make the truck a hotspot?? I thought all updates needed to be in WiFi zones! Also, not a single OTA that has been released up to this point requires WiFi. ... I had all my OTA's come in via the trucks' own data plan.
You have one of the cleanest OTA histories I have seen to date. All your updates came in between July 20th and without a single hiccup. You are only missing 3.5.3 to be fully up to date. 3.5.3 is almost 6 gigs, but I have never checked anyone's VIN that has gotten it to see if WiFi is required for that one, and I asked two people who got it if they were on WiFi or not, but they never responded. If you see the screenshot below of your OTA history, notice there is a column that says "WiFi Required" and every single update says no. I'd be nice if someone who got 3.5.3 can post or send me their VIN so I can check the details of that update. Is the "truck data plan" something the truck has from the factory for the OTA's alone, or do you mean the optional buy-up plans to make the truck a hotspot?? I don't have the latest update number in front of me but I'm now able to use my bed & hitch cameras while driving (FINALLY!!). Mine was built Feb-Mar 2021. It took forever before I started seeing any updates. I thought I was going to have to attempt doing them myself. I bought the cable/connector to use FDRS but got cold feet. Shortly thereafter, the OTA's started happening.
Can my VIN: 1FTFW1ED2MFB09069 be checked also? I'd like to try the Unreal sync theme and different splash screens if they'll work in my XLT. I've used Forscan to change tail/turn/brake light LED's, Bambi mode, universal windows via key fob, disable double honk, and double click fob for panic.
Oh, and If anyone wants to buy the FDRS dongle cheap...(er)?![]()
Wow! Thanks for that info. Like I said, It took almost 1.5 years to get an update! I park about 25' from my garage (as you can see in my ID picture) and my router is on the opposite side of my house. But the truck still gets a decent signal there. My phone is 50/50. Sometimes it struggles to decide whether to pick cell or WiFi.You have one of the cleanest OTA histories I have seen to date. Yes, 3.5.3 gives you full screen AA & CarPlay. Yes, it has it's own data plan for updates and the navigation and statistics sharing with Ford. The Wi-Fi hotspot is something else.Wow! Is the full screen Car Play part of that 6 gig update? I've been shaking my head ever since getting the truck that I can't use the 12" screen other than with the Ford map. My STX with Sync 3 was basically the same size! At least the resolution is much better.
And what about the cell data? Does the truck have it's own data plan? I didn't pay for any subscriptions yet. Figured I'd wait till my 3 years of Sync 4 run its course before deciding. I actually like the clean look of the Ford Navigation and it's not been bad but I still tend to rely on Google maps more often.
Thanks again for the valuable info.
I've enabled the flag via forscan and it made the same changes others are showing in 5.3 with mine being 5.2I thought you need the latest (3.5.3) to enable unreal engine?
Same modem. This is what GM has done for ~15 years now. It's quite common across all industries including aircraft. The telemetry units (TCU) are on and passing data if YOU realize it or not, and regardless if you're actually able to use the data or subscribed to a service. The only way to stop this is to unplug the cellular antenna from the TCU and disable any other exterior network connectivity (2).Yes, it has it's own data plan for updates and the navigation and statistics sharing with Ford. The Wi-Fi hotspot is something else.

I can check for you tomorrow from the office, but you have a 2022, so your truck already shipped with all the goodies that we are waiting for as job 1 owners. Your question is more in line with FORscan mods which I am no expert in.can you check my vin
as this is my sync version and i have the unreal engine ..and everything but the heritage splash screen is operable ?
thanks
