Easy peasy update. Give yourself lots of time though and when it says to restart your truck to finish open the window, turn it off, close the doors, take your keys out and give it a good 30 minutes minimum to make sure it’s done. When complete if you just look in without opening the doors none of the USB lights or the front control button LEDs underneath the APIM should be on or flashing. Needs to be completely dark.
Good advice. The truck is as dead as it’s going to be when the LED halo around the rear seat USB ports is extinguished. Using lights as an indicator prevents you from having to rely on a set time, which can vary from installation to installation. But as a rule of thumb, I’ve never seen a shutdown take more than 30 minutes.

To @cary 's point, it's not as simple as turning this on is it?

Forscan showed mine still disabled but everything worked. Weird. I left it disabled as long as it works.

I’ve also seen it where the LED halo is off but the backlight on the APIM buttons for seek etc. flash. That’s my method at least to know it’s completely dead.

Yeah @Jesse-Infotainment has been having me try all kinds of things, but no luck so far.

I doubt this could be it, but I don't have to have the Streaming service active to get Alexa do I?

Some photos I've seen show the Alexa symbol showing in the top right of the screen beside the connectivity icons. My Alexa is working. But out of curiosity does this show on anyone else's screen? It doesn't show on mine.
Not on mine.

Interesting. I’ve never seen that. On my truck, the LED halo has always been the last thing to go out. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the APIM buttons flash, during an update or anything else.

Yeah figured that, just thinking of anything it could be.
So you’ve obviously done the removal of your truck in FP, master reset, APIM/GWM reset in Forscan and re-added your truck to FP ensuring you have decent cell service to activate your truck in FP and activate BC, NAV and Alexa if you have those options?

Yes to all, BC & Nav work perfectly after 5 master resets and re-setup in Fordpass.

Alexa never shows up anywhere in Sync as an option

That is a head scratcher then for sure. I assume Jesse is having a look, he’s your best bet at this point.

Agreed on both. I'm wondering if it has something to do with their Securi-alert disappearing.

Mines missing as well but Alexa showed up for me. I think things like this are related to the GWM but may also be dependant on something in the APIM. The only thing that changed for me when I lost the SecuriAlert functionality was the APIM update and a master reset.

I really don't know why that isn't standard across all varients, even if you have the temp on your dial.
They didnt introduce this until 22

So it finally rolled down to the 21. since the 22 had no LED display on the HVAC> I dont know why Ford had it fragmented so bad forso long.

Yeah that makes sense, I don't think it would be a big deal if they decided to standardize that now. Makes way more sense to keep things consistent with software/UI when possible.
