You reactivated the fordpass

Its not a bit that is turned on its an app that is on by default.

You may need to go into your ford pass and activate alexa.

As a point of reference this update has been out for 22s for a while and I have yet to see it deployed OTA. It’s 6GB.

I don’t know that it will be deployed OTA.

I’m not saying it won’t saying it may not

So is FDRS with the mongoose the only way to get the update at this point? Or Can I get a FDRS pass, and download the APIM update without the mongoose?

yep looking that way, was trying to get out of setting everything back up. Doing that now

All updates require connection to vehicle with FDRS.

Of course my truck is going to act stupid. Did a complete master reset, reconnected to FordPass and still no Alexa.

Going to let it sit for a while

Ok.. Give it a few. Go into ford pass and make sure you have the alexa active in ford pass

I dont know if you dont see it.. Its a huge difference. But everyone is different.

Maybe we need a before and after shot.
Or s sample what has changed the most.

Btw for folks that installed the ipma and dont have Alexa active, when I was done, it said activation pending. By morning today it showed active. Got notified of it being in connected services and good for 3 years.

I just loaded the new APIM USB. It told me to finish the update to restart the vehicle. Now it seems like nothing. I haven't gotten the remove USB prompt and just waiting. I know sometimes this takes pertinence. How long did everyone else have to wait to remove the drive?

Be patient. Can take a while. Give it at least 15-20 minutes.

5-10 mins

Make sure your version changed in the about sync.

Eventually it will pop up. If not it will tel you to verify in fdrs

If you did a master reset on your truck to gain alexa did securalert return after setting everythign up again?

I los tmine and jsut want to know. I care but dont care. Its weird. I hate it but I love it. I find it useless but dont like not having it.
Anyways.. If anyone could help me out and let me know. Multiple answers appreciated

Interesting, I left mine alone without resetting and let it sit Overnight, about 3am I got an app push notification saying Alexa and streaming services were available and they indeed showed up on the truck morning. Just tested securalert and it's working as well.

Sounds like you might have messed up the sequence. It’s easy to do. When you are prompted to restart the truck, you don’t restart it right away. Leave the flash drive in place, turn off the ignition, open and close the door and walk away from the truck for 20-30 minutes. Don’t approach the truck with the transponder in your pocket during this time. Check on the truck every once in a while by looking in the back window to see if the LED halo around the rear seat USB ports has gone out. When it has, it’s time to restart the truck. When the Sync system reboots, you should then be prompted to remove the USB drive and transfer it to your laptop.
