My supercrew needs something in the bed. I don't wanna go spray in, because there is a small chance in the future I put a cap on and use it to camp out of. How is the OEM ford bedliner? It's 20% off now, so I can get it for $395 installed for both the bedliner and the tailgate liner. Thoughts? I read they make noise, scratch up the bed, and cause mold underneath and they're slippery. Is any of this accurate? If so, I'll consider just a bed rug and leave the sides exposed.

My use case is basically groceries, beach chairs and occasional home depot runs for bags of dirt. Next year will be camping with my travel trailer so the bed will be likely loaded up with supplies and have either a shell or a tonneau cover on it.

I had a drop in on my 2001, spray in my 2014 and drop in with new 2022. Make sure you also get a rubber mat. This will address the "slide" factor. I also have a tonneau cover, so no water will get under liner. I like it.

I've always sprayed my truck beds but this time, I decided not to.

I don't use my bed for hauling anything outside of the odd tool, supplies, groceries, lumber and kids stuff.

I went with the Ford 3/4" bedrug Bedmat only, with the tailgate cover. That with my tonneau cover, it absolutely does the job and keeps things from sliding.

I wasn't able to get the OEM spray-in on my 2022, so I decided to go with the BedRug instead. After seeing one on a friend's truck, I'm confident it'll work well and be a good alternative to the drop-in liner.

Drop in Bedliner for a couple of reasons.
Mostly dent protection
( you should have seen the boxes of every truck I’ve that didn’t have one)
Also, makes it a lot easier to slide stuff out.
I’m getting older and don’t feel the need to climb in and wrestle heavy items to the back.
And this F150 is taller in the back than any truck I’ve owned. If I can hook it and pull it back, I’m golden

my Ranger had one and it was easy to clean.
Right before I sold it, I took the liner out to remove the bed (fuel pump-full tank).
I’m in S Tex so this may not be the norm, but absolutely no evidence of corrosion anywhere after 15yrs. Some paint worn away on wheel wells and the vertical rear panels at the very back.
Also found that squirrels (aka tree rat) had been hiding pecans in the air space between liner and bedsides.
New truck won’t have that problem as there are plugs over lower corner tie downs.

But Jerez, lotta nuts can hide in there

Check out DuelLiner. Duelliner comes with a thick rubber mat. I put one in my truck and like it.
Yep. The DualLiner is a great product. I bought one for my 2016 and used it in my ‘18, ‘21 and now ‘22.

My 2022 included the factory spray on bedliner which is a rip-off, much like undercoating of the chassis or the special paint protector application.

With my previous truck it had a drop in plastic bed liner and a number of after market tool chest platforms could not be used. No such issues with the spray on liner but it does nothing to protect the bed and scratches more readily than paint.

I put a heavy rubber bed mat in my trucks and it protects the bed, gives traction for my dogs, and keeps stuff from sliding around in the bed. I used a 4x6.5 mat for 10 years and now it is in my new 2022 truck as it is not going to wear out. It is protected from the sun UV by the fiberglass cap which I have put on all my trucks since 1970.

BEDRUG is awsome! WeatherTec also make a rubber bed mat that has about a 3/4 raised lip around the edges. The great thing about BEDRUG is that if you get it with the tailgate piece,it seals out dust and moisture that can enter between the bottom of tailgate and bed. I'm not a fan of spray in liners. The first thing they do is sand the inside of the bed with like a 180 grit sandpaper to promote adhesionn After about 1 year they start to fade and look crappy . IMO

Bedrug without a doubt. If you like the drop in style I say get a Duraliner instead.

I have the OeM rubber bed mat. No liner. Works perfect for me and is extremely durable from what I can tell
