Done. Also FWIW I just submitted a complaint to NHTSA. I looked through the open complaints and didn't see anything about this, so I figured why not.

Link to submit a complaint here.

Though I have not had the problem with my 2021 I have had good luck in the past with silicone spray on freezing door gaskets to keep moisture from accumulating and than freezing. Just a thought.
That is a solid suggestion. I tried it on my 2018 and it didn’t work but I have heard it working for some folks.

I’m in Canada too. Ontario. We must have something to protect us. I know it’s not going to be as nice as what they got in the states but there’s no way these companies can just go around screwing people out of their money in plain sight.

It’s even worse when the dealerships aren’t willing to help or are totally clueless about the problem. I used to send little videos of my doors not working to them and they would just tell me to swing by and Theyll take a look at it. In the three years that I had the truck it was never repaired. Fortunately it was a lease because And that’s why I didn’t really push for anything but if I had bought that truck I would probably be in jail right now for doing some dumb shit against the dealership
We have the Ford Rep to complain to if the Dealer completely sucks. After that there's the Arbitrator route which likely includes Legal representation as well. I'm on my 27th Ford/Lincoln and had more than my share of problem vehicles. I worked my way through all Ford dealers (Ford retiree) nearby and am dealing with a small town dealer for the last 12 vehicles. Whenever i have a problem vehicle, i trade it

Im going to try these suggestions as well. Right off the bat about 2 weeks in I noticed my rear drivers side door when you try and do a soft close it won't fully close. I really have to slam the door to make it close and am wondering if anyone else has these issues?

Starting to happen on my front passenger side door as well.

My wife's 2021 Expedition has actually trapped her inside with this issue. Nothing like climbing out the back door when she gets to work. This is all very good info on this thread... we just assumed this was an isolated issue.

Damn I thought it was only f150’s. Tell her to blast the heater on her way to work so hopefully the doors will work by the time she gets there. It’s a shitty fix since it burns more fuel but it’s better than having to climb out of your car and possibly getting a winter mess all over the interior.
My wife had to hold the door shut in my old truck a few times and she told me to blow the thing up on several occasions.

Live in Colorado and will follow this topic. 2021 F150 Powerboost and having same issue as those posted not being able to open driver door from inside.

Inside handle will not open and door lock can’t be unlocked. You can enter from outside but can’t open after seated. Have to roll window down to use outside door handle. All other doors work properly. I won’t let anyone else drive it in the winter.

the least amount of moisture and freezing temps cause the issue.

dealer says “can’t duplicate” which is true. Inside heat will warm up door by the time you get to them.

it is now May so will address again next winter.

I’ve had problems opening from the outside and not being able to close the door but not being able to open from the inside is a lot more dangerous and I’m sure there’s some kind of laws about that.
If anything happens and you can’t get out of the vehicle things can get very bad.
I don’t think you should wait until the weather starts making it happen again. I would try to get in touch with someone as high up as you can find to figure it out before something serious happens. Best of luck and really sorry you have to deal with that door thing.
I’ve been lucky with my 21 model so far. Unfortunately it’s a rare enough problem that Ford doesn’t think it’s worth it to switch to the proper parts. I remember when I had my 18 model with the bad doors I asked A Lot of other f150 owners if they ever had that problem and to this day I’ve never personally met anyone that’s even heard of it. Just seen people taking about it online.

Every time the thought of moving out of CA crosses my mind, I’m reminded that the problem with moving from CA is that you need to live somewhere else.

But I have had this truck in Tahoe in weather as cold as -7 and had no problems.

On a dry day you can probably go up to -10 with any problems. I go through the car wash almost everyday so even -1 was enough to mess with my doors. But we go as low as -20 in my area (Southern Ontario)

My 2021 F-150 now has the door freezing problem. Heading to dealer tomorrow. Don't have much faith in this dealer. Anything I should push for? Also, adjustable mirrors show a lot of strain trying to move in cold weather. Never had this problem with my cars.

I’m sorry my dude but whatever the dealer does probably won’t work if you live somewhere cold. There are some cases where they replace certain parts and everything works out but for the three years I had my 2018, there was nothing myself or any dealer could do to fix it. I know that most of the leased trucks from Canada get sold in the states so I really hope it went to someone in Florida or somewhere warm.

I think the best you could do is let them do their thing and hope for the best.

OK, the dealer said that Ford has issued instructions on this fault in the form of a "letter" but not a recall. They were told to replace the cables in both doors. So now we'll see if that cures the problem. They also replaced the motor in the passenger side mirror because it had been very sluggish and was sure to break. Then they even delivered the truck back to me so as to collect more warranty money from Ford.

I really hope that works for you. A few guys had some parts swapped out, I don’t think it was cables but some white plastic parts that worked for them. So if this doesn’t work out for you I’ll try to find what those parts were and you can get them to swap those out.
