So this is my first truck and first new Ford (had an old explorer about 20 years ago) and this coolant leak / backordered part debacle happened to me as well. I dropped the truck off at the dealer on 2/23 and got it back on Thursday, so just over 3 weeks to resolve. I was very displeased having to give up a truck I waited months for 3 weeks and not even filling it up for the first time. The service people were very nice about it and my loaner was pretty decent, although not a truck. The Ford Customer Experience Specialist assigned to me wasn't really helpful at all, and I really don't like leaving bad reviews, but she called my wife's number for 3 days even though I specifically gave @Ford Motor Company my number, and I left a VM and talked to another specialist to get the number updated and she still called my wife's number who can't answer while working. Really frustrating. She finally called me on Tuesday and after failing to contact the dealer that day and being too busy to retry, she said she would be off on Wednesday. I talked to her one more time on Thursday before I heard from the dealer and she just said "I tried calling them and there's no answer" and then just silence. I felt like saying, "Why are you telling me this? You are supposed to be solving this problem for me!" And then she said she would try one more time if she had time that day, but she would be off on Friday. Maybe she pulled some strings behind the scenes to get the part to the dealer faster, but I highly doubt it given the failure to contact me or the dealer so often. Sorry just had to vent because this experience has been anything but smooth.

I just pray I didn't get a lemon and can avoid "experiences" like this in the future.

@trucknewb - I had a similar experience with my "Ford agent". Misspellings in the brief email to me. No reply to the email I sent back. I don't see what help it is checking with the "DLR" (dealer, I assume) and then telling me what they had to say. "<I> was told the supplier shipped the parts on <Monday> and that the part should be in route sometime soon.."

Being this was Friday, I asked if the part(s) were shipped on Monday, shouldn't they already be in route by Friday? No response...

It seems logical that if a Ford agent were to help, they would check with the supplier to speed up the delivery and not the DLR to ask them "what's up?" and then let me know what the DLR said.

I also think what we are seeing, phone call issues, misspellings, no replies, non-logical processes are a result of Ford throwing un-trained bodies at a problem. If high school+ doesn't prepare them for work, then the business needs to...

On a side note - no significant leaks after our cold weekend, then a significant leak after warm temps on the drive home from work Monday. So mine seems to be affected by warmer temps.

They got new part installed today and I just picked up truck. Drove 10 miles home and crawled underneath when I got home and no evidence of leaks thus far. Will keep an eye on it over the weekend and report back.
Update. no leaks after 3 days of driving, no codes either. I feel for you guys still waiting with no truck. Hoping you will all get part soon.

Glad they were able to get your truck fixed. I had my rental so long that they sold it and had to give me another vehicle to drive. I wonder how your dealership was able to get a part when the only update I can get is "Sorry no update yet part is still backordered"

Since Ford apparently changed suppliers for the heat exchangers possibly due to bad sensors, the temp changes causing the leaks would make sense.

Day 21 for me. Both Ford and my dealer are saying a tracking number is coming. In the meantime, I'm picking out a nice truck accessory that my sales guy thinks I deserve.

Great news! My biggest fear was that a new part would have the same problem. Looks like the new supplier figured it out.

Yep. I understand the supply chain issues. The communication ones I don't.

Super agree with your sentiment. I'm lucky that my leak is minor and I can still drive the truck.

I'm on Day 20. I wish my truck had the Larger 7.2KW generator and the Copilot Active package I placed an order for a new Powerboost with everything I would really want. It will be a race to see which truck I get first. My dealer told me that they are now starting to buy trucks from other dealer lots at MSRP to resell on their lot. Since my current truck is just sitting there no adding miles should make the value better.

My Ford rep called me today, I was super excited to talk to her, only to find out she called me to tell me that "the part is still on back order, and there is ABSOLUTELY no ETA when off backorder". To tell you the truth, this has really ruined my day. Especially seeing how other people seeing movements on their case. 4th week in with no truck...

Same thing I heard from mine today. I almost could make the call for him, starting to learn all the language..
“Hey Austin how are you today? Good, the reason for my call is to give you an update on the part you’re waiting for for your F150. At this time it doesn’t look like there has been a change in the status. I will call you again in 3 days around 1pm to update you whether there has been a change or not. Have a good day and thank you for choosing Ford Motor Company”

Wow! They must be reading some script, as this is the same narrative I am getting. My agent added though, "still no ETA on part"

I don't understand the randomness of it. Is it by region? First come first served? What? My dealer said last Thursday that 48 were being shipped that week and the next day my Ford rep tells me she is awaiting a tracking number because they are at the "packager", whatever that means.

Can anyone, either who had their truck fixed already, or have a confirmation from the Ford rep or dealer that their part is allocated or is in transit to dealer, contact me over DM and and share your Ford case number ? I would want to forward such case number to my rep, and see if she could use it as a reference to perhaps "speed things up". Many thanks in advance!
