I’m really enjoying my new truck. Does anyone else find the drive mode selector not to be intuitive? I keep trying for Eco or Sport modes on the fly and end up in Mud mode with the differential locking! ??‍♂?‍♂

I think you need to go clockwise for 2wd and counter for 4wd modes.

Or, I made that up to feel better about being confused ?

I just hate the 4H button is right there at it. I have hit it a couple times trying to shift to ECO. Just wish truck remembered the last setting without having to do the "OK" thing on start up

One click brings up the list of options, subsequent ones will change the drive mode. Counter-clockwise goes towards the left, clockwise goes towards the right.

Just used Sand Mud to pull daughters Escape front wheel drive out of powdered beach sand uphill. I throttled the Powerboost and let the computer manage the wheel spin and had her out on two pulls. I was in all powder with full air in my tires. Mardi gras in Niceville!

normal is one, tow haul is the second (clockwise) and eco is the third. If I pause too long on the second, it throws me in 4x4 which is maddening. Seems they should have thought about the best order to put these in.

I think it should be a random order with each start. That would be fun!

Random like which menu shows up on your gauge cluster upon startup?? Random like when your radio is turned off when it was on when you last got out? Random like transmission shifiting smoothness? Random like the tones of the beeps when entering and exiting your truck?? :devilish:

What’s more fun is when you go from your truck which is one way to a bronco sport that is the opposite for selecting modes.
Oh your 1st world Problem!?. (I kid). Maybe they made it different in the F150s as we have Terrain Management and the Broncos get 'Goat Modes'. F150 owners actually agree in the buyers contract to, "Never use GOAT mode in describing the multiple off road modes of their F150 as this is Trademark of the Bronco line exclusively"!

Everyone has been asking since day one to have a menu option to 'Remember last drive mode with out prompt'. Imagine if you cuold just go into the menu and select that. Boom, 80% of people stay in ECO mode for the majority of their driving.

If I remote start, do something else before getting in, I miss the prompt and for 10 minutes I dont notice then have to use the knob to select while driving or what-not.

Sometimes I dont even switch out of spite. Like Seinfeld.

Well I guess I could not be nice and tell you to RTFM. But that would not be nice. We only have nice people here. But it would be a good idea to do so.
It is one of the many different drive modes in your Ford truck. Eco should help you save some gas. That is if you were lucky and Ford properly tuned your truck when built. They did not with mine and eco does not help. I still get LOUSY MPG in any mode.
