That explains it then. Regular cab here, highest I could get was a mid xlt. I didn't even realize until last night when I was playing around with the mode knob that you could also get 4x4 by pressing the corners around it. Shows how much I use the 4x4 I guess! I did know about it asking if I wanted to stay in a certain mode though. I tend to like sport mode with the traction control off when I'm in town in case I feel the need to waste some tire tread.
dang right! I like pulling a holeshot with mine in Sport mode and traction controll off!

Having had my truck for 6 weeks it is the one thing that I am really disappointed about. (I know, major problems). The previous setup with the drive mode button on the gear shifter was so much quicker and smoother, why did they go this way of a Selection Knob that you have to turn sooo many times just to get to the Mode you want? e.g. Normal to Sport.

It would help quite a bit if you could change the order of the Modes that you prefer so you could keep the modes you use most together I.e. Normal then Sport or Normal then Eco etc next to each other.

anyone else feel this way?
I think the KNOB is great, like it better than the button on the console shifter

Not trying to be a smarta%^ but it just a knob! you turn knobs all day long on doors. You have to move the shifter lever to get in the gear that you want soooooo whay cant you turn a knob without feeling its alot of trouble. On my 2021 xlt,if I put in Sport mode and shut engine off ,when I restart it asks on the dash RETURN TO SPORT MODE, if so you just have to press the OK button on steering wheel. Still at the risk of being a smarta&&,maybe you should choose a Tesla.

I’ve experimented with ECO and Sport
It now stays in NORMAL unless I need the 4x4.
I‘ll check out towing mode when I decide to drag something with it

So, mostly—What Knob??

I am just wondering if it is set that way for physical limitations that each turn of the mode dial is actually relating to each mode setting physically changing in a sequence like going from small to large aperture or something along those lines. Albeit, I think having everything re-arrangeable as favorites is the future.
