Overall I am pretty happy, I got the 10 way power seats delivered to my door for $400ea and paid $180 for the seat covers. I was pretty unhappy with the seating position and feel of the stock seats in general, the new ones are a game changer. I am able to sit much lower and the seats are softer overall... definitely a mod I can recommend to everyone that feels the same way about the stock seating position. I have a harness coming Tuesday to run power to the passenger seat the correct way via the fusebox. The only thing I am not too happy with is how the headrests turned out, I may take them back off and try to add some poly filling, they just dont look right to me for whatever reason.

I also snagged the console off FB marketplace for $600 locally and I have about $200 in the ambient lighting additions, overall not a bad investment in total to completely change the look and feel of the stock interior imo.

On order ‘22 RCSB.
Awesome upgrades!
I agree with you about the change in seating position being so much better with the power seats. I did my driver’s seat but now you got me thinking about doing the passenger seat.

What harness did you order for the passenger seat power?

The harness comes from berrones_leds_and_tint on IG, its $90 shipped. On his page me makes a bunch of different harnesses for these trucks and includes a video on how to install it.-*/

On the headrests did you remove the original cloth covers? If you keep them on underneath the new leather ones they would help with the fitment.

Every time I see a console swap on a reg cab it makes me want to do the same in mine, I just don’t know if I can commit. I kinda like my jump seat.

Yea I removed the covers, fitment was super tight as it was. I am going to cut some foam sheeting that I have and get it in there and see what happens, its not loose at all just looks wonky.

Lack of storage was the main issue with me and the jump seat, now I have all kinds of places to stuff "junk"

I have a few questions:
  1. Where did you purchase the seats?
  2. Is the difference between 8-way and 10-way power seats just whether or not they have lumbar adjustment?
  3. I understand the power seats can be adjusted lower than non power seats. In their highest position, do the power seats sit even higher than non power seats, or just the same height?
  4. Did you only replace the covers, or did you replace the seat foam too?
Thanks for posting! Your truck looks great and inspires me to do something with my bone stock XL interior. I really want a console…

I found the seats on car-part.com, you also look through LKQ.
I am not really sure on the difference of the seats to be honest.
I can check on height but its kind of hard to really tell at this point, im only 5'8 and I felt like I was sitting on a booster seat in the stock seats, I only put them all the way down and thats where ive kept them.
I reused the foam out of the seats I bought, I was going to gut my factory seats and use that new foam but the seats I bought had seat heaters and I didnt feel like trying to get them off the old foam and onto the new foam so I just recovered the seats i bought, and now I can sell the original seats out of the truck as basically new seats. I looked into buying new foams last week but it was a PITA trying to match up part numbers and I just said screw it ill try to cover the seats i just bought and see what happens, the covers fit perfectly.

Thanks for the detailed and prompt reply. My main goal is upgrading to leather, but if I could get power seats, or better yet, heated and ventilated power seats, that would be amazing. I’ll check out the websites you mentioned. Thanks again.

Ventilated would be a completely different monster to try to tackle, none of the stuff is there to get the air to them. As far as i know there is no simple way to even get the heat working yet thats been laid out simply using all stock parts and integration, but I am sure it will come at some point thats why I kept it like that, thats the one downside of leather my ass was cold on the way to work this morning lol

I always thought ventilated seats were somehow hooked up to the vehicles AC too, but I recently watched a video that explained how they work. Apparently the heating and cooling is handled by little self contained devices attached to the underside of the seat, and all they need is power. Here’s a video that explains it pretty well:

Negative. Most manufacturers including ford have switched to suction seats for cooling. As in the air is pulled into the seat and vented outside of it. For one reason or another the peltier systems have widely been done away with. Using the HVAC's AC presents its own issue because the seat moves and you'd need a moving duct as well as blend doors to control the flow to the seat.

One of the reasons for moving away from peltier was due to the inability to control condensation when it occurred and the resulting mildew smell that followed. The suck design is such that you're typically having AC blowing on you and the seat then draws it into the seat providing a marginal cooling benefit. The biggest draw comes from you in that when hot you're sweating a bit and by sucking in the warm air you end up with evaporative cooling. As such if you ever remote start to get the AC going and hop in when you're even a wee bit sweaty, you end up cold quite quick. I did some moving in august with the truck and just left it running with AC between loads and it was quite effective in not only cooling but drying the shirt. It was like a mini cold plunge between loads and my buddy helping couldn't tolerate just how cold it was.

I run cooled seats continuously in summer and it's never had me wanting more. I've also had peltier cooled seats and while they do have a slightly cooler effect, I've found it only marginally so even with 3 mins of remote start before getting into the vehicle. Peltiers end up creating additional heat loads in the vehicle due to the nature -- you get about 2w of heat for every watt of cooling just on how they operate.

Good to know. I just learned something new, thanks!

Here is the Berrones passenger seat power harness, its well made, properly crimped with he correct pins, is it worth $90? Honestly no but your paying for the convenience of not having to source the pins, wire, correct crimp tool, cutting it to the correct length and putting the loom on it etc etc, gives peace of mind that at least its done the right way and not jumped off the drivers seat.
