XLT trucks with push button start cup holder/ambient lighting

Ok guys I am here to help. This ONLY APPLIES to PTS trucks Lightnings are also included in this. Im gonna tag in some people here @Puffy929 and @PFXLT so with that said lets dive in!!

Here is the part list.

ML3Z-1513562-CB full cup holder assembly
ML3Z-14A318-C Media bin light
ML3Z-14A411-C Glove box light

OEM footwell lamp part numbers
ML3Z-14A318-J(front)
ML3Z-14A411-B(front)
ML3Z-14A318-B(rear)
ML3Z-14A318-A (rear)

If you want to do color change here are the part numbers you need. you also MUST tell the person building your harness youre using color change as it changes 2 connections on the harness

HC3Z-14A318-E color change cup holder lights
ML3Z-1513562-CB cup holder(it will come with blue lights that you gotta remove and install the above part number)
FL3Z-14A318-L floor lights(qty 2)
FL3Z-14A318-N floor lights(qty 2)

THIS PART IS FOR TRUCKS WITH THE OPEN CONNECTORS.


The open connectors will look like this, this is the drivers side bracket.

on the passenger side youll have a black one it will be in a holder

so if you have these adding ambient lights to the foot wells is pretty easy along with adding the cup holder you will have to install a wire that runs from pin 4 on the BCM connector C2280C. this will run to connector C212 pin 30(white connector)

after you add this wire and make forscan changes the foot well ambient light connectors will be active. Heres the wire that will be added. I will include it with the cup holder harness if youre an XLT truck.

here is a picture showing where the jumper goes on C2280C you know you got pin 4 if pin 1 is empty(bottom left).

This shows the connections for the harness.

this shows where the media bin/glove box harness connects to. this is the large console light connector its going to be in your console when you remove the cup holders/upper console

if you have the connectors youre going to add the jumper from C212 PIN 30 TO C2280C PIN 4 here are the connector views.

Ok now for the XLT PTS guys that arent lucky enough to have the connectors. I Have come up with a solution for you too. you must still add the BCM connection. the connection not labeled on here is for a media bin light. the BCM connection is going to be connector C2280E pin 38 and BCM C2280C pin 4
the 2 connectors that are circled will connect together. the rest go where they are labeled. when you get the harness(or build your own) you have to add 2 connections to the bcm the white wire is C2280E and the red wire is C2280C the black wire is self explanatory its a ground ring terminal. theres a ground post directly beside the BCM.

Ok the 2024+ trucks theres a few changes ive yet to see a 24 truck with the connectors. youre going to add the white wire to C2280D PIN 35 AND THE RED WIRE TO C2280C PIN 22

I still suggest checking the last one against the spreadsheet. If you want to do color change youre going to modify 7D0-01-02 xxxx-xxxx-*xxx to your current options but with pantone example if you had a 5 here and wanted color change its now going to be a 4

You’re a legend! I’m PTS XLT but don’t have the connectors. I definitly want to do this ASAP. Does the passenger footwell light just clip into that felt cover thing? I didn’t see a solid metal bracket like on the driver side. Also is it possible to do the door lights now too or way more than it’s worth?

yeah it just clips into the felt liner. Door lights I haven’t looked into too much but it’s probably not that easy

Beautiful, We were talking back in May about this before my surgery. I had to go look at my Wife's truck and think we have the plugs. My single cab only has a turn-key so didn't bother to look.

Thanks for the write-up! This is great! I rode in a Lariat the other day and it had the ambient lighting in the footwells and doors, got to say, I liked the look. Are the ambient lights dimmable?

Also, where is the plug under the driver's seat located for driver's rear passenger seat the ambient light? Seems like my truck has 3 out of the 4 footwell light plugs.

Here's my truck's configuration:
1. Driver's front seat footwell - found
2. Passenger's front seat footwell - found
3. Rear passenger's seat footwell (under passenger seat) - found
4. Rear driver's seat footwell (under driver's seat) - missing...?

Another successful PTS XLT here. I went a little further and also added the rear footwell lights. The harnesses @JHForman812 makes are spot on and made very well.

For the rear is it just adding the lights? If so do you have the PNs?

For me It wasn’t. Both side have the bracket. The driver side had nothing but the bracket. The pass side had a plug there but it was dead.
@JHForman812 hooked it up with a y harness that split off the cup holder light harness he makes.
