Yes, the painted and non-painted mirror caps are interchangeable. I did this mod on my XLT and it looks great.
There are sellers out there which can source and will paint the mirror caps to your truck’s paint color. I found the part number online then went to an online seller to source and...
After getting logged into FDRS for the first time, I'm happy to report updates are moving along. It's on the IPMA update now and I'm in the AC using Remote Desktop to monitor the progress. (y)
What is the consensus of the forum for performing the BCM update? I thought I read here the BCM...
Quick question; I have all the supplies needed to do my first update session today, but found the battery voltage was fluctuating between 12.1 and 12.2v. I was using FORScan and the Mongoose Plus cable to check the voltage at the OBDII port before buying a FDRS license. I verified the fully...
Excellent suggestion! It'll be easy to implement this set up in my garage for updates which take longer.
The Ford Mongoose cable is ordered. :)
I'm sure I'll have other questions once I get the updates rolling. I appreciate the help, everyone. Thanks again!
Thanks @rugedraw! Good call on using a fan to help keep air moving during the summer time.
Would it be ok to fully open a window to run an extension cord into the cabin? Would use it to power the laptop and the fan.
Got an FDRS newbie question; sorry if this has been answered here before.
I'm seriously looking into buying the kit (minus the battery charger because I already have one) outlined in the first post of this thread do the module updates on my Ford vehicles.
What do you do to prepare for an...
I‘m selling a pair of halogen OEM F150 XLT 302a taillights which were on my truck before I upgraded to the OEM LED taillights. They work perfectly and include the BLIS modules in both units.
Approximately 34k miles were on the truck when I swapped in the LED taillights. No scratches are on...
Does the 10.1.0 OTA update fix the phantom update notices from ECG-24.2.5.6.1 (released September 2024)?
My truck hasn't received the 10.1.0 OTA update yet.
The noise on cold start is a normal engine warm up operation; no cause for concern. My truck is running well and no engine components have been inspected by the dealer or replaced.
The dealer said the noise is normal, so no action was taken. Good news is there hasn't been a CEL or DTC to report yet.
I did, however, confirm the noise is coming from the driver's side wastegate actuator in this case.
All good news here after 3 years and ~33k miles of ownership. Besides warranty work and a couple of recalls, my F-150 is a great vehicle.
My small regret is I didn't order a Lariat 502a! lol. However, with guidance from our outstanding forum community here, I was able to add features from...
That’s funny you receive an update notice each time you visit that particular Walmart. lol.
My truck falls into the random category; doesn't matter where I'm at it may prompt or may not. Then the icon disappears on the next start up. I wish it would have notified while it was at the...
Now to add some context around my question. lol.
The reason for my question is the last few OTA updates Ford pushed to our trucks, mine truck will remind me every few days an update is available. However, it’s for an update that already applied, so it seems nothing installs. The update icon...
If you have the twin panel moonroof, it may be a good idea to ask your tint company to tint those as well. I run Air Blue 80 on both sections of the moonroof and it works well.
I've been using the AutoStop Eliminator for a couple of years on my '21 F-150. It remembers the last setting (Auto Stop/Start either on or off) when the truck is turned off and on. No ForScan changes were required. It works great!
