XLT trucks with push button start cup holder/ambient lighting

Appreciate it. This is the PTS XLT forum right? Isn't there a bigger main forum with a ton of pages of people who've done it? I should ask on there if I can find that main thread. That's where I initially found all this and then this sub thread for PTS guys to go over too. Just need to ask on the biggest thread on here that talks about these upgrades.

the main difference here is you have to install a jumper, they dont, they also already have the rear under seat lighting you dont.

Ah, I see. Okay. Thank you for the information. Won't hurt to ask I suppose. Here's hoping, because man, these trucks become absolutely gorgeous at night with 4 simple ambient lights. So I just looked underneath the drivers side of my 22' and found the grey empty connector. I'm just looking to do the footwells and cup holders, I have the two courtesy lamps and cup holders in my cart. At this point all ill need is the jumper for the cup holders and be ready to get rolling?

Hats off to @JHForman812 ?? His harness is top notch and I just finished adding ambient lighting front and rear w/ cup holder.
He’s a wonderful person to help so many people and I am truly thankful for all his help. Glad to know there are still good people in this world… especially in these forums!

Was it ever established whether 2023 XLTs can or can not add in the footwell ambients? Reading through all the posts it seems like there were a handful with 2023’s that had some issues getting this to work.
Would love to tackle this for my 302A, but don’t want to get my hopes up for the OEM option if it’s not doable on newer builds.

yeah I'm doing just the cupholder and footwells, front and rear. No media bin and my truck already has the glove box lights as well as the hookups already in place for the front ambient. But 2 hours is good. I have to borrow a garage so just getting an estimate

Howdy from a site newbie!

I added ambient lighting in my 2015 like five years ago or so, made my own harnesses and pinned the connections.

I’ve been researching this mod as I just picked up a 2024 XLT.

I know there’s a few minor differences, but are there any other folks with a 24 that have tried this?

There are a few small ambient lights in the front and rear, but no footwells or cup holder.

I’ll do my best to gingerly poke around for the referenced stock harnesses as I suspect they haven’t changed there.

are you a Push button start truck? if youre not this wont work. ive given all the pinouts on the first page, youre not going to be able to buy a factory harness to do this, unless you change out pretty much the whole truck and dash harnesses. the lights you have are not ambient lights, they are just regular 12v LED lights.

thats what im saying lol, ive given the connections at the BCM on page one. middle wire is control mod, outside wires are positive and negative. its the same wiring ford has used for YEARS.
