XLT to Become "ACTIVE"???

We live in a time where people think if we come up with new names for things, they'll sound more intelligent, or at least less bad: "Unalive" instead of "dead", "gaslight" instead of "lie". Now "Active" is supposed to sound more appealing than "XLT" and all the legacy that label brings.

My dad had a 73 candy Apple red XLT.
XLT was good for him and also for my 2024 XLT Powerboost.

Yeah, we boomers were taught to embrace masculinity. You know, WW2, 'Nam, supporting a family, buying American, working with our hands and all those silly obsessions.

Glad Millennials became so enlightened and made this such a better place now.

TIL baby boomers went to WW2. Technically, you could point to the division of our culture during the vietnam war as the first push away from traditionally masculinity norms. On one side, you had traditionally masculine war vets and supports and on the other side you had progressive anti-war counter culture that broke alignment and pushed towards a more social awareness culture.

Almost as if, baby boomers were the first domino to fall with regards to a divisional split in our culture, and almost as if, their children reflected that.

But you know, enlightened millennials are definitely at fault for the current political climate. The good news is that once you hit rock bottom, there is no where to go but up. So, let's continue to find the bottom together.

You may have been intending to point this one out here, but the term "baby boomers" refers to the first generation born AFTER WWII. To your point, the boomers were the generation that fought in Vietnam, protested Vietnam, often protested for civil rights, and introduced the world to the "hippie" counterculture. All of which introduced a cultural divide between the boomers and the WWII generation (aka :"greatest" generation). A divide which , interestingly, is not all that different from what exists between the boomers and subsequent generations today.
