My 2023 xlt randomly decided when I auto rolled up the driver's windows it went up then shot back down. It now will go down manual, go down auto if you push the button down two clicks, will come up manual but will not come up auto and if you go to far (hold up) the button too long it shoots back down 2/3rds the way. Like the not crush your fingers feature in the window module had a brain fart. Anyone know how to reset it? I have not pulled a battery cable yet. Hoping to reset without doing that. No mechanical issue with window like something in the way.

Thanks

bet battery is on its way out. Bounce back is a safety measure, so you dont get locked out.

Thanks, im not thinking its that feature, its behaving differently. I think I got a video to upload to this thread showing what its doing. Drivers window only. The other ones are fine. Seems like it would need a reset of some sort to me

Looks like you're losing auto up/down intermittently. Could be a failing DDM or switch pack. Get the truck's DTCs read and see if there are any listed.

If you have FORScan, you can also reboot the DDM in service procedures as a troubleshooting step.

Check this thread, maybe you had your Integrated Trailer Relay Module OTA Update come through? It caused at least two of us to have window issues after the update was applied.

If you press up and hold (keep holding) then it bounces off the top, my bet is the video should solve your problem.

Alright! Got it fixed! Thanks for yalls help here.

What i ended up having to do: The reset procedure where you hold the switch at either end and it relearns, did not work. The window just immediately went back down. Pulling the battery cable for a few minutes, did not work. What DID work was getting out and standing with the door open, rolling window down all the way, then running it up manually (one click, remember two clicks auto doesn't work) until roughly halfway then without letting go of the switch using left hand pulled down on the window just overpowering the motor to stop it, THEN pulling up on the switch for a couple more seconds to do the relearn procedure. Hit one touch down, went down. Hit one touch up, it then auto went up! But only to halfway, its new learned position. Then I was able to manually raise it up to the top and repeat the learn procedure of holding the switch a couple extra seconds. Now its relearned end positions and the one touch auto up works again.

Had this on my new 2025. Dealer had to do a update/recalibrate in computer, lasted 3 days and did it again so now I have to take in again.

There was an update it did a few days ago, i cant remember what it was for....

I tell you what, when this truck hits 60k miles im disconnecting the attenas for the data system. Im going to take away Fords ability to remotely F with my truck and screw things up via OTA updates. But I have 20k miles of warranty left so ill wait till then. Way too many stories of these updates causing issues and or undoing tuners guys paid good money to put on.

That's great! Glad to hear you got it working and avoided a trip to the dealership. Your window motors are probably happy, too 😂
