What tailgate setup does my 2021 F150 have?

I have tried with the truck locked and unlocked. The fob has been on me in all cases.
Whats the procedure for getting the switch out to test it? I am a mechanic and fearless about dismantling and re-assembly.

I would open the tailgate anyway that works...remove the inside cover and go looking. If there is only 2 wires on the switch. Short them out twice with the tail gate closed see if it opens...if it does...check switch...if not..check wires and maybe switch.

Power closing tailgate was not an option on XLT (Lariat minimum trim), only the step option and damped remote opening (not certain if it was motorized or gravity/damped)

Thank you, Mark. That makes complete sense to me. The owners manual says nothing about "damped remote opening", only the manual and power tailgates. I no longer feel like something is missing.

Thanks Don, I will do that. I just wasn't sure if I had to take top cover off the tailgate or the inside gate panel.
