What kind of MPG mileage are you getting with your Powerboost?

It is kind of odd but there are so many variables.

Different gas blends and grades. Some use premium, the one time I used it for towing, mileage went down. How does that happen?

Some drive a LOT faster and or more aggressively. We know that lifts are a guaranteed loss of 2-3mpg. Changing tires can affect it, terrain etc. etc.

Exactly. That’s why whenever someone makes an outstanding hwy gas mileage claim that just sounds a little too good to be true, I have to ask how fast they‘re cruising.

I make a 500 mile trip between North Alabama and Central Florida 4-5 times a year in my 21 3.5EB (not hybrid), I normally average 22-23mpg usually cruising at 75-80mph on interstate

Nice! Is it 4WD? What gear ratio do you have and what size rims? Does your winter mileage change much from the summertime?

I see incredible gas mileage at 45 MPH... until folks behind me in a 70 MPH zone let their displeasure be known, and I accelerate to 75 and MPG goes way south. ???

2WD. I think the 342 rear end, stock 20's

I do have a 2024 on order , but before pulling the trigger it was between the Powerboost and the upcoming Toyota Tacoma hybrid. Coming from a F350 crew LB , the Tacoma had 2 big attractions. Sizing down , the 350 is an aircraft carrier . And possible MPG savings. Well, after thnking on it , the Taco was to much of a size down. I take long road trips and the interior is just to small , especially after a 350 crew. And now the preliminary MPGs are finally out on the Taco , 23 mpgs across the board , basically the same as the roomier more capable f150. I'm now doubly certain I made the right choice.

We just drove about 20 minutes and I got 26+ mpg without too much electric. The way there, maybe 19 or so. That’s with 35” tires too. I don’t understand this truck at all.

What trim and what size pickup box?

The 2011 is a Lariat 350 crew cab with an 8 foot box.
THe truck on order is an XLT Powerboost crew cab with the 6 1/2 foot bed. Since owners are reporting varying mpgs I'm hoping to be one of the lucky higher mpg.
As far as I can tell the new truck will be 20 inches shorter. Not exactly sizing down. But I'll take it.

Just did a 318 miles trip (with JB4 stage 1, mixed premium and regular gas in the tank) kept around 70 mph and 370 miles left to go.

Yep... I tell the wife to "hold on, quick acceleration coming up when the light turns green", put the truck in sport mode, floor it when the light turns green... wife says "that's it,? It felt so much quicker in the Mach 1"... me (humbly) yeah, kinda, maybe??...

my wife... "lame, but for a truck... OK"

I take that as a "ok"??

When you know the light is changing go into sport, turn off traction control, apply the brake firmly, press the gas pedal until you see the boost come up after the ice fires and then launch it. It's a very different experience.
