What is this? Shouldn't they be capped if not in use?

Was under neath the passenger side front seeing why my tire was rubbing when I saw these two open wire connections. Considering the proximity to wheelwell and pointing straight at the ground, shouldn't these be capped if not in use? What do they go to? And besides using crude electrical tape, anyone know the exact plug part number so I can properly cap...?

I think that's correct. Ford seems to use unpopulated wiring connectors as caps for these types of unused wiring harness connector points.

My take is that Ford uses one (or a few) wiring harnesses and if you didn't get some options the wiring is still present.

It's a Platinum PB so I'm not sure what options I could be missing? Maybe it's the electrical switch for my hydraulic airs shocks when I want that '63 Impala bounce????

In all honesty with LEDs maybe it's the Halogen lead? I would think that would terminate closer to the headlights?
Just strange. I'll crawl underneath today and try and get better\clearer pix.

This would make sense and no I don't have the CCD, had to look up what that even was.
And yes Big Dog was also correct, closer look shows those actually are caps.

Could be for the locking hubs too which are no longer on 22s and 23s 4a trucks.
