"Things change"...
That's for sure, for example Ford's elimination of the SuperCab in Lariat trim.

Yeah, things could change but ^that^ likely ensures that the 2022 Lariat SuperCab built to my spec is a long-term 'keeper' (note I've still got my purchased-new 2005 F150 as my 'backup' vehicle, so I'm proven capable of 'long-term' vehicle retention :D)

Ha, ha, get this...
So my dealer tells me to expect a 3-month+/- wait when I ordered my truck. FIVE months and 4 rescheduled build dates later, I had to sink $7k into my 96 Ranger to keep it on the road!'

Good thing I did because it was another 3-months and 4 more rescheduled build dates before I got my truck.

Now I have a new F-150 and a practically "new" 96 Ranger.

Fortunately the '05 XLT has been very good to me. The expected fluids maintenance, belts and idler, a couple of coil packs, driver's side power window assembly, headlight switch .... that's about it over all the years, certainly no major surprises / let-downs.

Even with the supposedly 'troublesome' 3-valve 5.4 it just keeps ticking along at ~120,000 miles, most of those towing.

But I do love the new Lariat for my daily driver, the '05 is now relegated to 'backup' duty (I live alone in a very rural area so must always have a backup) with a weekly drive into town to keep things lubed and charged.

Yeah, I had "big plans" to replace my Ranch Truck but this 21 F150 is just too damn nice! I use the Ranger to pull my trailers around for loading and then hitch up the "21" for hauling.
