A few weeks ago, I brought my truck in for three recalls...
Rear Axle Half-Shaft and Hub Assembly Replacement
Axle shafts have been ordered, and truck was returned to me as neither hub bolt was broken.
Sunroof Air Deflector Inspection
No issues found.
Rear Camera Screen Software Update
When I picked up the truck the first thing I did was check the SYNC version. It had been updated to 24127-1270. It was 23291-1049 before being dropped off. As some of you already know I purchased a Mongoose cable in July of 2024 to bring the software up to date with FDRS. Update log showed that 10.1.1 TCU update had been performed.
I now have an occasional headlight warning, I have DTCs relating the level sensors. They were not there before bringing the truck in. Ford will look at it when I bring the truck back to replace the rear axle shafts. Headlights still perform as intended.
I only noticed one change from this update. The location of the directional indicators had moved to the upper outside corners as shown in the picture below. The red dots I added show the approximate old location of the indicators. I am not a fan of this new location as with my seat/steering wheel setup the wheel blocks the view of the indicators. I have adjusted both as much as I can and still remain comfortable.
The following weekend I made a few changes with ForScan that updated the adaptive cruise setting from 'Speed Sign Recognition to 'Predictive Speed Assist' with no results.
A few days later I received 25.2.1.6.5 APIM update. Did not notice any changes at first. A few days later I was using the ACC and noticed that the truck slowed down before a speed limit reduction. Proceeded to check the SYNC version and sure enough it had been updated to 25094-1779. Below is the IP indicator showing the new box that pops up when the truck is slowing down before it has reached the reduced speed limit sign.
I believe this function is also supposed to reduce the speed before certain corners.
Now if I could just get the rear parking sensors to function again and activate the front ones I installed in July of 2024. This issue happened with the previous FDRS updates. Work has just kept me to busy....
