Using phone causing Sync to switch to CarPlay

On my 2022, if I have CarPlay connected and listening to XM, if I am at a stop or parked and pick up my phone to use safari or open an app, sync will automatically start CarPlay when I close what I’m doing on the phone. It seems that in previous sync versions you could turn auto play off but I done see that on sync 4.

I was hoping someone had a solution as I’ve searched the forum and google for an answer but no luck.

Happening to me too. Just started happening in last few weeks. Prior to that could use phone to check an app or email without truck switching music to CarPlay. Seems last update caused the change. Irritating...while eating in truck can't listen to ESPN, news, whatever and check email without having to constantly switch back to ESPN, news, whatever!

Glad I’m not going crazy, are you talking iphone update or OTA for Sync? Because now that you say that I can’t remember this happening before my last OTA a few weeks ago.
