Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
I'm not understanding the headache. I have been using a key for 60+ years and still prefer it over the button.

Because I want the welcome light
And the fact that the vehicle has a approaching type of light
I love those stuff so yeah…

I did some research before I ordered my Jeep. One guy was saying to for sure get keyless entry and push button start. He made a good argument so I added it to my build list.

He was 100% right. I love that feature on and off road. It’s just so nice to put a key in my pocket and not think about it again.

Unfortunately, not available for the RCSB XL. I looked into an aftermarket option but it required basically putting a key blade into the ignition and leaving it there plus a bunch of other modifications that seemed overly complicated.

So now, I have to use a key to start my $50,000 truck like some sort of ordinary schmuck / peasant / loser.

Its not too hard but you really need to know what youre doing in terms of firmware and you have to have PATS access in FDRS.. you have to rewire the start button and add antennas in the truck and if you want passive entry wire the doors.

THe BCM controls everything in the FORD> FCA you can do it easily I did it in my own RAM years ago. It was way easier in the FCA than the Ford.

You are in Kuwait a few people have done it there also that I know of. Maybe one of those shops can help you out

well Jesse the thing is I looked deep down in Kuwait yet we don’t have anyone who do it, perhaps you’re talking about that automotive-hub account ( who’s in Dubai )
He has the upgrade but can’t drive all the way to Dubai, I wish you guys could offer these type of upgrades tbh

Hopefully your luck is better than mine on factory upgrades. Everytime I attempt one I get in the middle of it and the instructions turn to Swahili, and I am stuck. I can get on YouTube and find them in Navajo, but I am no better than the Germans were in figuring that out.

So now I am down to two choices. (1) Total the truck. Or (2) try to find someone that I cannot hear laughing on my way back out the door that will fix it in two hours and charge me $750 plus parts.

It is frustrating because (1) I should have been smart enough to know what I didn't know, and (2) I wasn't smart enough to know that.

One day I may save myself some money and quit this stuff. But the time is fast approaching where I'll Fly Away.

Spend some time to find someone that has done it before or that lives and breathes the repair manuals. I had a buddy one time that turned down a full ride to Harvard Engineering School to go racing. He was quite successful until some stranger named Richard Petty showed up with a car on a fancy trailer and proceeded to lap everyone at least once on the way to cleaning house and walking away with what was then a sizable purse. He knew he was dead when Petty started the car. It just sounded differently.

Having blown off Harvard he began his official career as a mechanic who could read for comprehension the manuals on these newer computer cars. Some of his customers were other shops that could not take care of their customers unless they paid him to repair it. It was quite profitable as long as they could not hear him laughing on the way out the door.

I have nothing to prove. At this point I consider waking up in the morning a major victory. ?

I have vehicles with both push button start and of course my Ford-F150 XL has a keyed ignition. 🙄 At first I was a little irritated that Ford still uses a keyed ignition but after using the key for a while I dont even notice anymore. I have had my fare share of issues with the keyless remotes so having the good old simple and reliable keyed ignition means less crap to go wrong.
