Upfitter Switch installation

I believe you are correct with how you labeled the pins and does seem that position #23 is used but there is nothing in the documentation that says what it's used for so I think boostedgreygoose is correct that it's not being used.

yupboosted stated it is not used and to go ahead and depin that pin in #23. Tape it up. And use the one on the harness, worked perfect. Without Any issues. Harness is working flawless. You have to remove the red safety and I stuck a little toothpick in the front of the connector to release the old pin. Here is after the install of the new pin Everything else in the truck is working. No issues. No codes. Everything is good after removing the pin and replacing it with the harness pin

I have ditch lights Morimoto 4banger hxb that’s it’s controlling. It’s the only thing I have right now.

@OffRod150 You have to run a new harness from the switches to the BCM and to the upfitter switch relay/fuse box. The overhead console needs to be chosen in the correct configuration according to what you have in your truck (sliding rear window and/or sunroof). You can basically swap over all your overhead console internals from your factory truck (map lights circuit board, etc.) to the new upfitter switch overhead console.
Here is a general parts list:
1. Upfitter switch overhead console from a Tremor/Raptor.
2. Upfitter swtich relay/fuse box (this is mounted in your engine bay).
3. 200amp fuse at your battery to protect the upfitter relay/fuse box (bought mine on amazon).
4. Harness to connect switches at overhead console to a plug at the BCM or at the BCM fuse box (add-a-fuse) and upfitter switch relay/fuse box in the engine bay.

Why do we need to plug into the BCM? Because the switches are backlit blue when the switch is in the off position and orange when the switch is turned on. This gives it an OEM look so tying into the BCM for accessory/ignition power either pinning at a particular plug or using an add-a-fuse in the fuse box at the BCM is recommended.

I am trying to find the easiest way to tap that wire myself. Some people pick it up in the overhead console and others have tapped into the wire coming off the BCM in the passenger foot well. It a violet wire with a gray tracer. Hopefully when the directions get posted he has an easier place to tap into it otherwise I will probably just pick it up at the BCM.

I’ve now pretty much tapped into everything in the interior passenger side fuse box with a tap a fuse and nothing is getting any on the switches to illuminate ?‍. Is it possible I may have blown the lights on the console it’s self ? ? I’m hesitant to tap into anything at the console it’s self for illumination with out any guidance from someone who actually knows what they’re doing. I’ve searched other forums and YouTube and my best guess was tapping fuse #36 for ignition or fuse #29 for battery constant and nothing ?‍ This may be a stupid question but would I even get illumination to the switches with out everything else connected ???? ? Congrats to everyone that made progress or completed their installs.

Brandanr96 Question I realize I’m not using the same set up as you with the Boosted’s plug & play kit but I’m having a hell of a time getting blue illumination to the switches. It’s super weird because I’m only getting switches 4 & 5 to illuminate orange with the switches in either on or off position. After reading your post with Boosted’s response about your curiosity with pin #4 and him saying it’s because you have a XLT with out ambient lighting. Do you believe this could be the reason Im not getting blue illumination to any of the switches? The other thing that’s weird is the only switch that is working is #4. Switches 1, 2 , 3 seem to not be getting any power what so ever ?‍ Any advice or anyone reading this have any suggestions I’d appreciate it thanks ?

I’m just confused as to Boosted’s comment about your truck being a XLT and doesn’t have ambient lighting and that pin 4 is open . What does open mean exactly ? ? Is pin 4 refer to pin #4 coming out of the overhead console ? Or pin #4 coming out of the under hood upfitter relay box ? ? Apologies for all the questions ?‍ First pic is pin out for upfitter relay box #2 pic is pin out for 2023 f150 XLT overhead console pin out #3 pic is 2022 raptor overhead upfitter pin out. Hopefully anyone reading threw this and needs this info your welcome ?‍

Pin #4 is referring to the BCM connector c2280c. It is not used at all in the Upfitter set up. It was just something I noticed. C2280c is the top larger one in the BCM. Blue illumination is received through the SCCM. It’s the connector that has red arrow pointing to it And orange illumation is received through pin #23 in the BCM connector c2280c. Other than than. I have no idea about other pins or connectors

as a matter of fact I asked about pins #24-25 as they were open and did not involve depinning #23 and he explicit said probably not a good idea as we don’t know what it powers and it could be catastrophic. So I went ahead and depinned #23 and used that one. No issues so far with taking that one out

I can tell you with extreme confidence nothing catastrophic will happen .??? I literally tapped every fuse in the engine compartment as well as the passenger footwell and didn’t even throw any codes ??

Correct me if I’m wrong as I don’t know much about this stuff but it seems tapping a fuse and pinning a BCM connector would be vastly different. I wouldn’t mind tapping and fuse but I wouldn’t go pinning a BCM connector in any spot
