Upfitter Switch installation

I completed the install this weekend. Took about 6 hours because I was taking extra time to make sure everything was perfect.

I also had to file the aluminum bracket for the relay/fuse box to lock into place. I did the same as @TylerNinetyTwo did above by filing the top of the square holes.
I decided to use the grommet under the passenger floor where Ford already passes wiring for the power running boards.
Now to get the accessories for them.

This was my exact thought. Plus it’s grey, and more common. Hoping it wires up..

I FINALLY got to doing this install. I was a little put off by the instructions because “disassemble the steering column” with zero instructions and some other instructions that were greatly lacking made me want to research more but I never got around to it. All in maybe 6 hours? I did have to go source a file set since the aluminum bracket didn’t work. Thankfully since I decided to start this at midnight I had one at my moms house to go grab. Running the harness wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be. I chose to do what @Brandanr96 did and use the rubber grommet under the floorboard as well. This was after I unbolted the seat it just made more sense.

I used some wire to run down from the A pillar to grab the gray connected and pull up, that helped. I also did the same from near the relay box to the wheel well liner.

Lastly de pinning and repinning #23 took probably the longest. I couldn’t figure out the orientation and I didn’t realize the red safety comes ALL the way off so that held me up a good 15 minutes.

All said and done I’m disappointed that I had to file down the aluminum bracket to make the relay box fit but the wire harness itself is very nice and just the right amount of length. You’d think after waiting all the months we did he could have figured out the relay bracket didn’t work but maybe it worked on the one that it was test fitted ??‍.

I reached out about the code......it only applies to things on his site that doesnt use Ford Parts. So basically you can only use it on 1 or 2 products on his site

I agree......kind give him props alittle bit because he was like this is the biggest discount we ever provided and he wouldnt take a hit on revenue with those products due to his discount exclusions

I even fired back with like, well due to the issues/delays of this product, what about a $50-$75 refund which is less than your 40% offer......but he said no

o well whatever......i doubt i will purchase anything else from him anyway

From what it sounds like, no. He uses Ford parts for that. I think it’s only for his own made harnesses like the paddle shifter plug n play one.

dose anyone know, do the upfitter switches still light amber if you dont have any accessories hooked up to one of the switches? because mine only light ice blue and when you put the switch to the on position you ave no light no amber. but i have any accessories hooked you too the switches.

I think your switch pack might be bad. I had a similar problem where the last two switches do not light amber but the come on blue when turned on. Also the amber only comes on when dash button lights are on they are not dependent on accessories.

I misspoke the blue is tied to the dash lights and dims with the dash lights the amber comes on when the switch is turned on. Are yours factory or added after?

Stock parts that Iam putting in a 2023 f150 platinum. Iam useing the raptor overhead console and a 2019 f250 relay box HC3Z-14A303-F that modified to fit

I tested a new set of switches on my bench doing the same thing just the blue goes on not the amber. I’m thinking that you need to have something hooked up to that switch for the Amber to come on the other thing is I know that the test harness I used on this one, but not on the other switches that I have, I don’t have the relays connected so I’m not sure maybe that needs to be connected to looking at the schematic from Ford. I have all the wires the way they are to be hooked up to each pin.

This is interesting! Now I am thinking mine might be good but there’s a loose wire or something. I will ask the guy I bought the harness from to see if he has some insight on this. I will let you know
