Tore a corner of this fabric/cardboard material shield pictured below. I have circled the four mount locations in red. Looks like it may either be for aero or to shield the transmission from water or debris. I am wondering if it is worth replacing. If it is strictly for aerodynamics, I am going to wait and see if there is an actual impact to my fuel economy before replacing. Thoughts?

I just epoxyed the corners that ripped back on. Think about getting a small fiberglass repair kit and strengthening all mounting points.

DDoes any know if a 2024 powerboost is supposed to have one? It doesn't look like one was ever installed on my truck.

Probably not. My brother’s ‘23 didn’t come with one and my ‘25 doesn’t either.

My former ‘22 started to fall off so I removed it and never looked back. Seems they all fall off at some point. One less thing to deal with when doing an oil change. ??

Same thing happened on my '19 Platinum. I cut a couple pieces of 1" wide strip aluminum about 2-3" long, drilled a hole in both ends, then used large washers and bolt/nut to sandwich one end of the strips further back on the felt and used the hole on the other end as mounting points. Worked for me. My '24 KR doesn't have one.

If you plan on keeping the truck for a long time I'd put a tremor skid on it and call it good. Not sure why ford puts crap like that on their trucks

I put a piece of aluminum channel across the whole back, riveted along the way about 8" apart and bolted through the aluminum to the mounts.

Mine tore on my 2021. I bought a can of Bondo fibre glass reinforced body filler. I put a layer of Bondo, added 1/4" fender washers on both sides and Bondo over that. The Bondo was about a 2 1/2' to 3' square over each hole. I tried to leave a dimple at each hole so they could later be drilled out to 1/4" or whatever you desire.. I then replaced the clips on the frame for fasteners with holes for threaded bolts. I maybe had a total of $40 into the repair. Its still in place. Been about 6 months. I cleaned the edges with a small rotary file in a die grinder. Made a clean looking repair. I also put retainers on the bolts so they stay in the hole when the diaper is removed during service calls.

I put the raptor pan on my 21. Along with a PPE deep pan. No fear of a stick putting my truck out of commission now.
