I'm familiar with a few dealerships in mid US that do straight forward 3% under invoice on new builds. Any dealerships on the west coast that do this easy ordering and pricing?

Doesn't adding $1,800 for shipping negate the discounted purchase price?

The discount is closer to 10% at Granger. You will spend ~$2K or so on shipping, so still much better financially wise than buying locally.

I myself got $2K off MSRP on a local dealer here in Washington state. If I had bought with Granger, it would still have been ~$3K cheaper after shipping.
For myself I decided to get it locally to reduce the risk and hassle associated with shipping. If you are optimizing on money alone, Granger will always be a win as far as I can tell.

Nothing lost but time by asking granger for a quote on a build and seeing how much off you can get from a more local dealer. I tired but none of my local New Mexico dealers would go below invoice on a new build. Granger saved me $6k with their 4% below invoice. A plane ticket and 2 day drive is only $600-$700

good luck

Keep in consideration that a drive from Granger to the west coast is double the distance than to Albuquerque. Granger to Seattle is 1750 miles.

If you can’t find a good dealer on the west coast then set aside a weekend. Fly out to Granger Friday after work, stay in a hotel overnight, pick up the truck first thing Saturday morning and you have two days to get home. It’s long for sure but totally worth the money saved.
BTW, there’s not a snowballs chance in hell that you’re going to find a dealer to match Grangers 4% under invoice on the west coast.

When I was ordering my 2022 Lariat PB (covid era 1/28/22) I spoke with many dealerships in the mid east coast region. At the time they were all MSRP. But since they liked me, they would not charge me over MSRP. I told them I just wanted to order, do not care about waiting any length of time, and would put down cash deposit. I told them the deal I could get (Granger) and could they do anything on the price in relation to invoice. I thought maybe they would come back with 1 or 2% over invoice, but not such luck.

Most laughed and said it was a scam and I would be stupid not to order from them. :( Stupid not to order from them even though they are offering me absolutely nothing.

Ordered from Granger and spent $400 on a flight (they picked me up), $200 on a couple of hotel nights, total about 2 days driving (over 3 days) and about $150 for gas for the 1100 mile trip home. Saved over 10k even with the expenses.

Best buying experience I have ever had. Do a little homework and get a quote from Granger. Call around locally, do not go in, and you will find out what is what in your area. You could strike gold and get lucky with a local guy that needs to fill an order slot. Good luck and the drive home is not bad when your pocket is full of cash.

The great thing is I'm newly retired and have time on my hands to fill. :)

My only regret with my truck is buying it off a local lot and not ordering through Granger. I was able to get a great price but a week’s worth of stress could have easily been avoided

I called around to some local dealers to compare. Most of the dealers, near me in the SF Bay Area were surprisingly at MSRP.

I did find two that were at $500 over invoice(Morgan Hill Ford and Walnut Creek Ford) and one that was $500 under invoice (Big Valley Ford, in Stockton, CA).

The biggest surprise was calling Galpin Ford, down in So Cal, who I had heard was a huge volume dealer. They were at sticker, and not only that got aggressive when I asked for a quote on an order as they claimed they "couldn't do that, and anyone else that said they could were lying".

I ended up going with the $500 under invoice dealer, doing the math, after shipping it was a few hundred dollars difference from going through Grainger. While Grainger would have been much quicker I didn't want to deal with the Smog and DMV from an out of state purchase. If Ford did courtesy deliveries like you can do with other brands, I would have gone with Grainger, I just didn't want to deal with shipping for only a few hundred dollars.

Call Chip at Granger. Get the quote, it costs nothing. Afterwards, I'm positive you will order from him. Then when your tuck come in, take your time and see the western half of the country on your way back home on an epic road trip. After all, when you worked and raised a family, your friends would invite you to all kinds of things and you had to say "no" because of work or other responsibilities. If the family ever wanted to take a trip or do something and work got in the way, you had to say "no".

I also retired recently (3 years ago) and the only reason I did was so I could finally say "yes" to everything. Now that I have time, whenever a friend talks about visiting or going to a concert/event during the week or if a family member asks to have a get-together over a long weekend, I can now say "yes". Say "yes" and take the road trip. America is beautiful and definitely worth the drive.

Nobody..not any dealership in Florida would come close to Granger's quote. But more importantly they do NOT play games with add on's and have a much lower dealer fee. Typically close to a grand down here. So even if you find a price local that seems to make it not worth it your REAL out the door price working with Chip might be much lower!! Another very real benefit is the absolute lowest price on a extended warranty. My personal goal is to pay the lowest price possible for a 2024 F-150 XL single cab OTD..And Granger IS the only way to do it.
