Quite a few years back we had a spark plug seize in an aluminum head at 60,000 miles or so. The threads stripped out and we had to have a heli-coil put in.

No way I'll run to 100,000 without changing the plugs.

Since then all of my spark plugs have been changed early - with anti-seize compound on the new plugs.
Good reasoning, in my opinion.

There are some types of maintenance that I don't consider frequency or intervals based on what's the longest I could wait.

The Ecoboost is definitely a motor that I'm not waiting until Ford's recommendations or any symptoms present, before I change plugs. Besides, it's one of the easiest modern motors to change plugs on, so nothing to avoid. :)

Torque specs are always for dry, unlubricated threads. When any kind of lubricant, and thread anti-seize qualifies, is used, reduce the applied torque by 25%. In engineering worlds that is standard practice...
So this would apply to loctite as well?

Yes, the loctite, and other thread lockers, is a liquid and takes some time to setup. Before it sets up it then lubricates the threads being joined.

The real question for late build 21's and up who want to put in a colder plug or ngk plug are not able to because they dont make them indexed or with that little washer for some reason? So, is everyone just using the stock plugs when they replace them for these year f150's now?
